I want to start toying around with video editing a bit. I have Windows Movie Maker and I have never even loaded video on to the computer. Is this good basic software to use or should I look into something (hopegully free) else? Also, any resources where I could learn a bit about the basics would be helpful.
Movie maker is deffinitly good for beginners… real easy to use software and does a good job too. Once you get comfortible, then try Adobe Premiere… but it’s alot more complicated… especially if you want to use baller 3d effects and such but you can do some pretty cool things with it
:word: Ive really stretched movie maker, there is plenty you can learn from it before you need more, but eventually you may need something better depending on what you want to use it for
I think I am mostly looking at doing some cutting and adding audio to start. Just cleaning and consolidating mostly, adding music and text etc.
movie maker will be your best bet. its easy to use very easy and get windows movie maker 2 i dont know if anyone still uses 1.
adobe premier is very easy to use IMO, i never used anything else that was my beginner program
If you’re just looking to complete simple tasks as mentioned you’re probably better off with a simple program like Movie Maker. When it becomes clumsy or inadequate I prefer Final Cut Pro to Adobe Premiere, but I’ve used both and they’re both very good.
pinnacle is nice from what i have seen
