Plastidip it first… on OG paint, that just sounds like the right thing to do… Unless like you said in the original post, you want something done.

plastidip is…an idea.

im leaning towards gloss now though which kind of rules it out. vinyl just gives you a smoother nicer finish and will hold up to the elements a little more plastidip is on my kidney grills, it has held up through winters, but its too soft…and its a LOT different than doing a giant smooth roof

I would love to have my roof wrapped in 3m CF material. any leads?

Everyones favorite bmw owner nick pearl does this… he made me a very nice 30"x40" german eagle crest… and i know he has wrapped 3 or 4 roofs in that 3d carbon fiber. I think its 716 designs or something like that

^^ lol believe me its def vynal 3d carbon fiber, i saw the bulk sheets of it. I saw his car at the darien lake fathers day car show and thought it was plastidiped. it wasnt, just a super orange peeled paint job haha

With the PD glossifier and the new sprayer a gloss smooth finish is easy to achieve. Just a fyi

Id stay away from plastidip. The po of my bike painted the whole bike with Pd. Doesn’t look bad but Sucks up dirt like a vacuum.

im going to do it myself (gloss) maybe do a diy write up if its not too frustrating and i remem to take pix. shipped yesterday so any day now.

My only advice is to spray, pull, stick, and squeegee in “Small” sections (roughly 8" x 10") at a time to make sure it is nice and flat. Don’t pull the backing and try to stick it at once (I’m sure you are smarter than that but I don’t know if you have done any vinyl work before).
