I actually ran my business out of my home garage for a while when I was looking for a shop. Never really had a problem with the neighbors, and they ALL knew what I was doing. However, I never had old rotten piles in the driveway either.

Well, from some of the attitudes it’s easy to see why such PITA laws are neeed. If everyone was reasoanble and took their neighbors into account, it’d be one thing. But there are lots of self centered people and some who actually enjoy annoying others.

I agree keep your junk in the garage or in the junk yard. I dony want to look at your junk everytime i drive around my house.

if you look at my house there is always a 2000 Audi A6 in the front driveway. My cars taht i work on are usually in the garage unless i have to get full access to something or have it washed/cleaned.

As I’ve said lots of times before, I’m all for these laws. I live in a nice neighborhood, spent a lot of money to live there, and I wouldn’t want one of my neighbor’s driveways looking like ghetto motor sales.

There’s a big difference between the guy with the weekend toy that he occasionally works on in the driveway on nice days and the guy who keeps 4 POS’s in various states of disrepair parked in front of his house. If you want to do that shit moved out to the sticks where they don’t have zoning laws prohibiting it because each house comes with enough land that your neighbors don’t have to see your POS collection every day.

It’s unfortunate that sometimes an asshole neighbor takes advantage of these laws to simply harass someone by filling complaints over minor things though.

None of the POS car are in front of my house they are hidden from the view of the public unless you have walk back pass the a6…

if you look at the setup of my house you could only see one car…im stating taht you have to physically walk pass the a6 to see a small sedan…or you will never see the car b ecause after the a6 thereis another driveway to the garage. that is hidden behind the house.

what do you consider junk? everyone’s opinion is different, some people consider mustang to be junk and other thinks GTO to be junk…

I live in a place like amherst where everything is seeming to sink into the ground they build it on. lol my garage and driveway is in 5in of water every heavy rainfall.

Regardless of where it is in your driveway, what condition you think it’s in, the bottom line is the law does not allow it to be there unregistered. And you’re not allowed to operate a car repair business anywhere that isn’t zoned commerical.

Maybe yours is a case of a bad neighbor, or maybe as Fry suggested from your classifieds activity you’ve simply taken advantage of your neighbors willingness to overlook an occasional unregistered vehicle too many times.

While unforunate that some PITA neighbors will take laws like this and abuse them to report a guy with a restoration project that he moves out to his driveway for a few days to use the garage for something else, it’s still good to have them. If you didn’t there would be nothing you could do about the inconsiderate asshole who has 4 half assembled shit boxes littering his driveway.
