I used to use Nero as it had basic re authoring capability, but I just went to install it on vista and it says that there are known issues with it. It doesn’t seem to work under my virtual pc XP install either (doesn’t see the dvd burner)
I’d prefer something free/open source (only reason why I ever used nero is because it came with my dvd burner)
BTW, for some unknown reason, from dusk till dawn wont work via DVDFab… something about the copy protection. What do you guys use these days for DVD decrypting?
nah, the only downsides to 64bit vista afaik is driver problems (they NEED to be signed to use them… there is a work around I believe but you have to disable driver signing every time you start the machine). It’s kind of moot though, I have yet to find a driver that’s not made for x64 so it was probably more of a problem in XP64, or for people running old hardware.
I haven’t had a single problem with it yet and programs that take advantage of it work like a champ (3d studio max for example seems much more efficient/faster rendering) plus the OS actually seems a lot more stable (and it actually see’s 4gb of memory vs 3.25gb with 32bit vista)
other than that, 16bit applications wont run on a 64bit os (but DosBox works for that anyway). 32bit apps work perfectly fine though. I think they’re run through some type of emulation layer
