So the other day I was driving around and attempted to show off to some friends, as I was shifting from 1st to 2nd I heard a loud bang and the right rear tire lit up. I’ve noticed recently that my lsd wasn’t kicking in when it should so I just figured it was wearing out. I was also under the impression though that when these lsd’d fail they typically go into an open diff kind of setup. In my case I have 100% power transmitted to the right tire. I can do 80 in 3rd, punch the gas and that tire lights right up. Really all I want to know is has anyone else had this happen to them? I am getting no power to the left tire at all, almost like it sheared all the teeth off of that spider gear. My memory fades me as to what the insides of a VSLD look like so excuse me if it doesn’t run a traditional spider gear.
