No it’s not. Association is not racism. They are not voting for the black guy because they hate white people. They are voting for the black guy because he grew up the same way, went to the same school, has the same religious views. The sames goes for the rich guy that sees McCain. He might think McCain has his best interests vs some guy that grew up on food stamps.
The racist person goes: I ain’t voting for the white guy because he is white.
See the difference? Want me to use MS Paint to draw it out?
did anyone see the results from black voters in Va?
91% of the black popular vote was for Obama.
NINETY ONE.
I highly doubt they were voting because of his ideals/beliefs.
Obama’s about as black as sweater vests, yet they still probably only voted for him because he’s black, which is great and all, but I think the simple fact that it’s being praised as a great step forward in equal rights is making it a big deal simply because he’s black, which is racism in of itself amiritelol
howard stern did his own survey for candidates, what he did is took all of McCain’s views, and called them obamas, then went down to harlem and telling people what “obamas” plan was and if they would vote for them, sadly all of the people he asked said yes they would, and all of them were black
There was a problem in America when 50% of the eligible voters didn’t vote.
The majority of those 50% that didn’t were a… well minorities.
The reason they didn’t want is because they knew that their vote wouldn’t matter, so there was no point.
Now they had a representative who seemed to actually care for the lower/middle class and they came out.
At the end of the day when the small percent of wealthy is doing good, while the lower/middle keeps getting screwed and they are the majority things will turn around.
i think hes the only face on tv or where ever that would actually have the balls to do a test like that, its funny how that is though, black people see a symbol, not a president, sad but true
but the fact that blacks were voted in record numbers has to tell you something, that those white people that vote for mccain were always going to vote, i dont think you can say that for the black community
so you think its that there is no truth to the fact that black people vote for obama simply because he’s black? and the fact that most of these people never voted before in there lives?
Read the post above, they didn’t vote because it wasn’t going to matter. It’s called motivation and potential benefit, and that’s what either forces you to go vote or stay at home.
A vast majority of white Southerners vote for McCain just because he is not black, which is just as bad as voting for somebody just because he is.
Here is the problem, it’s visible in this thread.
There is very little discussion of the policies and a lot of judgment on the whether the president will be good or not based on his character and persona.
im not judging whether the president is good or not because i simply dont know, it takes a lot more than the president to get things move for america so this idea that one man can change america is wrong, but a lot of people think that way, especially black people, they feel that they are going to get something out of having a black president so they vote, i dont think white people say well we will benefit from having a white presdient because we have always had a white president. What people dont realize, white or black, is that there wont be a whole lot of change like obama promotes, it’ll be the same old shit, and if the economy bounces back im sure it wasnt obama that did it for us, its us, the people
