OK so i have a little bit of a unique situation. I just bought an A4 avant from a small dealer (this is my second B5 A4) and the dealer did not have the key FOB just the valet key. He also told me that he had just replaced the central locking pump with a used unit because the original pump was water damaged some how by the one original owner.
In the past I had an old Key fob to get the FCC ID off of so I could just order an uncut HAA key and refurbed FOB of ebay for $70 and away I went.
I however do not know what to do with no key FOB to get an FCC ID off of. The only local Audi dealer wants $275 for the FOB and programming.
Anyone know of a way to get the assigned FCC ID to the car. I thought it was on the central locking pump but that looks like a completely different grouping of numbers compared to the key FCC IDs
it was missing the Key fob, a center cap, a trim piece on the cup holder and there are dead pixel in the HUD
all things i pointed out lol. so he came down on his price cause it was literally the most ass backwards podunk dealer I have ever dealt with. Absolute headache but unfortunately it was exactly what I was looking for color, options, mileage and price before the negotiation
I tried Brew. Unfortunately VW dealers cannot do anything since there is no other existing key. Its an SOL situation where an new key has to be programmed via a vin search
I looked on ECS and they are really not much cheaper than langan and they also do not mention anything about FCC ID. Which I know for some reason from my last car was important to actually getting the key to work
yeah I don’t think there is a way around it when the original FOB is gone. The cheapest thing you could do is program it yourself but there is no point wasting then time when programming only costs like $50
