They are rpm controlled, but a quick mod will give you push button access to the cutout.
After test driving a VW yesterday I am going to say yes on the R32. I was actually stunned by the fit and finish.
The exhaust has a vacuum controlled flapper right by the muffler. It opens when going over 40 MPH and over 3500 RPM, but like sureshot said it can be changed easy (adding a switch or just blocking a vacuum line). If you’re serious about the R, I would say test drive both years of them to see what you like better. The DSG in the MKV is nice but takes away the fun of shifting for yourself. I own a 04 and really no complaints it’s a nice car.
How did I miss this thread
Nick, since you are the only one in this thread who probably actually owns one, sum this thread up. (He is the one I referred to in my previous statement.)
P.S- OP, I have 2 videos on these forums in the kills that shows how it moves and what it can do in the snow as well
^^^ OMG its Nicky666!
NICK, holy shit I miss you man. Let’s fuck some time.
The AWD system is the same Audi used in the TT’s. It’s not full time AWD which helps gas mileage. Power is transferred when slip occurs in the front wheels, and IMO unless you plan on getting some serious track time in an upgrade isn’t needed. Overall its a fun car. Dont buy it if you want a fast car, it’s not and it wont be without some serious $$. I say drive one and see if it fits your lifestyle, its your money. And deathproof I love you.
I will need the DSG my legs are useless and my driving sucks anyways and that was before the back injury LOL. I would upgrade the AWD controller though to make it 50 50 like I am used to driving with the Subies. I dont like how my 1999 A6 handles with the power transfer but when it does it puts it down in the right spot. But thats the wifes car any how.
quattro is not the same as 4motion.
tt’s use halidex, not quattro
:bigclap:
Yeah haldex and quattro are two different systems, Volvos and Land Rovers also used the Haldex systems. So your wifes A6 with the quattro will put the power down differently.
wow, I didn’t know the TT had haldex branded as quattro even though it was not.
are the gen2 TTs also haldex? I thought the gen2 had a 60/40 rear power bias like most newer audis.
Yeah, I think it’s a different generation Haldex set up too though. More aggressive and such.
