TBH: i dont think thats very sad at all. I remember wanting a car and having no money. Thats how alot of teenagers that age are. It wasnt that long ago for me so i can empathize with him. If he doesnt have alot of money, go work a job and make some. I worked through almost all of my highschool years. Maybe he shouldve had some foresight and if not then maybe he should get to working.
nothing wrong with the ad… who knows maybe someone is looking to get rid of a junker… and instead of giving it away to a scraper, maybe the kid can put it to better use… if hes at all mechanically inclined then he can turn it around… and yes people do give away cars… my dads friend gave him a ford escort back in the day… just gave it to him… was his daily driver for almost 6 years with no major work needed ever!
There’s nothing wrong with the ad itself but i personally dont see how its a sad story. I think its sadder that parents are giving out keys for brand new BMWs, Benz’s, and other expensive powerful cars without a second thought in their head.
But with the ad, honest, this kid is a douche. You cant go around asking for free things, you’ve got to work in order to recieve, maybe he will eventually get something for free, but that is just a little to much wishfull thinking. Im practically in his age group, and ive gone through 3 cars already, worked hard for everyone of them, im technically poor aswell, yet i feel alot better then i did with just wishfull thinking. Besides… if your poor, how the shit do you expect to work on/fix/drive/maintain any type of vehicle? yet alone support your own self?
Being 17, insurance alone will rape you up the bum.
See, that’s the stupid thing. If someone really had a car that they would be willing to either scrap or give away… how safe and decent do you think it’ll be?
In the end, he’d probably have to put in so much money and his car wouldn’t be so “free” anymore.
And I’d laugh at that kid when it comes to getting insurance + getting the car safetied + e-tested + paying for gas + paying for maintenance.

haha I know it might of sounded strange from my title of the thread towards the ad for some, but it’s just funny how some kid can expect a free car, he’s broke, and then hope to f’n drive the thing let alone if its running or he’s mechanically inclined, hows he supposed to afford insurance or gas these days and at his age…

Also i noticed that no one mention how gas price will also rape him. Old car due for the scrap yard( free car)= Gas guzzler
And i was 17 a few years ago and it was not that hard to get a car for cheep. Bought my first for $250 and it was working and drive able. And for that age group, as a 2nd dary driver its at lease $2000. i Know primary at that age on a 240sx was $5500 for me.
lol most of the spoiled teens that I know usually are the lazy slackers in terms of the school life, guess they wait for their parents to hook them up in the future somehow if they decide to give up…
