Weight loss tips thread

dosent really matter i guess, but on the 11th, i went to an xmas party, ate a bunch of side dishes that i shouldnt have, and it took until this morning to finally be down again from my lowest point. down another half lb  im happy about it.

yesterday i ate a bunch of unsalted planters and shit my brains out, i think that helped.

I hit 270 working for Jason, down to 225 as of today.

i havent been able to workout in about a week :fu:

I got to run from the Vikings game to my car in downtown Detroit last night. That was an unplanned but decent workout.

gotta do it whenever you can!

Hit -90 lbs this morning. Losing weight during the holidays sucks. Probably just try to hover here for a week or so, then come out of the new year strong.

Also I am in talks with a fitness equipment company about a couple pieces of equipment that I have been using to possibly get sponsored / appearance deal. Target date would be early April for a shoot and first appearance end of April.
I donā€™t really want to give details before we finalize since they talk a big game but not sure what they will deliver. But it would give me a strong push to start the year, since I would like to be -120 for the shoot which is not necessarily my end goal but I would look jacked in a t-shirt.

Good for you, anytime you can find another source of motiviation and heck get a little incentive back just for doing something you want is great.

My food intake went to hell at holiday dinner 1 and the Bills game with my brother didnā€™t help either.

However, measurement wise, Iā€™ve improved. Iā€™ll let the weight stabilize again before I comment on how many up or down.

Congrats. While I agree I should wait to see the number after I stabilize I was pumped to see I was actually down a pound after not weighing in since Christmas eve. I was hoping to hover but more realisiticly gain a couple while being in Buffalo.

It has a lot to do with how and when you eat. I also have been stuck at 215 for 1.5 years now I am down to 201 I have dropped 14lbs in 1 month after being stuck for what seamed forever. The biggest thing for me was not eating before bed. also if you eat multiple smaller portions or just cut what you eat in half and eat half now and half a little later it more or less tricks your body in to a different food storage mode. Its not good to wait until dinner and just eat a giant meal That will tell your body to store fat because its not seeing a constant intake of food. I feel much better and i can run longer, I am also not tired anymore. Obviously getting drunk and slamming a stinger sub from jims even if you eat half then and half later will not help

Stopping drinking really worked for me. Iā€™m taking some new medication so I couldnā€™t drink much anyways, just decided to stop totally.

Went from 234 to 219 in two weeks. I also spent that two weeks in south florida, walking around most of the days. I still ate like a pig, mostly restaurants and fish entreesā€¦

Its tough to keep up a walking regime when its 0 degrees out here, but just a change in climate would prove beneficial to me.

Also swimming for even 10-20 minutes a day is great exerciseā€¦ I would get up early and swim in the hotel pool, and be pretty winded after 20 minutes.

Yeah I donā€™t drink but replacing regular pop with diet was a big calorie drop

I agree with the warm weather, going for a run when I was down in JAC, FLA even when it was ā€œcoldā€ at 45 degrees in the morning was beautiful compared to here. My eleptical in front of the DVR is a pretty decent setup though.

Everyone back on track?
At -95 this morning but I weighed in late since I slept in. Trying to master eatting healthy while going out since it seems most dates revolve around a meal.

I got back on my ckd routine this week, it was tough. Did 3 nights at the gym. Lost 4 pounds, gotta love that water weight.

Iā€™m starting to go on a diet and starting to get an exorcise plan going. Right now I want to say I weigh around 265 or so. Iā€™m going on vacation in mid March and would like to lose 25-40 lbs by the Vacation. My brother in law is big into fitness and is going to help me get my diet where it needs to be and go to the gym with me 5 days a week. He wants to focus on a muscle class each day along with cardio.

I donā€™t drink pop i donā€™t eat candy and I dont smoke or drink. However I do drink a lot of poweraid which is sugary and has a good amount of calories. Iā€™ll be subsitituting that with water. Just want to get your opinions on if i can do it and any advice on good things to eat. Iā€™ll be doing a lot of salads, grilled chicken and vegetables. Typically I would do fast food everyday for lunch and often for dinner as well. I never eat breakfast and I know iā€™ll have to change that.

Thatā€™s a lot of weight to lose in 2 months. In general, you will be able to lose ~2 pounds a week of body fat(anything else is water weight or muscle), on average, with hard work. That means in 8 weeks, you will probably be down 16 pounds. Cut out starch filled carbohydrates like potatoes, white bread, pasta, etcā€¦ Substitute high fiber products like whole wheat pasta/bread and sweet potatoes. EAT BREAKFAST!!! Drink A LOT of water, it will help you get rid of the bloating from eating a lot of food that has sodium in it.

Yeah my fiancee does weight watchers and I guess anything over 5lbs a week is considered ā€œunhealthyā€. I mean if you happen to lose 6 lbs one week due to a lot of exercise then itā€™s fine, but losing over 5 lbs week after week is kinda excessive. I think Iā€™m going to start running. Physically Iā€™m pretty good. 195lbs @ 6ā€™. My endurance I know is terrible and overall I need to bulk and tone up.

been eating like total shit. xmas. then i hit chinese the other day and pizza. back on turkey burgers n veggies. hovering that 295 range :frowning:

I am averaging close to 1/2 pound a day, so 3.5 lbs a week and that seems to be aggressive. I pulled one month of 20 lbs but that was rough.
Friday will be 200 days in and I am shooting to hit 100 lbs by the weekend.

Basically where I started before the holidays, +1 or 2 maybe.

3.5/week is a lot to lose for sure. Most people cannot get those results.
