I’ve got a stock 93 S13 which had a 5 spd. swap done a few months ago.
Within the last few hours of driving a clutch vibration arose when I pushed the clutch pedal. It feels like it’s gritty and dirty, the vibration stops if i stop moving the pedal, even if it is halfway down, the vibration only occurs upon moving the pedal.
I thought it might be the pedal assembly, so I turned off the car, the pedal works perfectly, no vibration at all. Started it back up, there is vibration when the clutch pedal is moving. Also the engagement point seems to be quite high as in an inch of pedal movement will mostly disengage the clutch.
Throwout bearing? There is a bit of a whine while the clutch pedal is not pressed at all that goes away when it is to the floor, but this is present on most 240’s that are running perfectly fine otherwise.
Thanks in advance for your help guys, I’ve been searching multiple forums for answers.
The person who did the 5 spd. swap probably reused the TOB, even after I insisted a new one be put in. It was apparently replaced again a month ago after being “inspected”, still no way of proving it was done…since the person turned out to be shady later on with my engine rebuild.
I guess I’ll get an OEM one from Nissan when I get some money. Hopefully it won’t cost too much to get it installed.
Is it bad to drive my car as it is? Especially with the clutch engagement point being very near the top of the pedal.
to the op… incase you missed the post by educated_idiot… there’s a guy on here selling a brand new throw out bearing for ka/sr tranny… here’s the link…
