We're Doing It - Sequence-Garage You Work You Save

If the legs of the lift are well positioned and the lift is not defective, I’m not to sure how someone could get squished?

I guess that’s also why they have waiting areas at shops… but i know a lot of ppl like to stand over their mechanics shoulders and watch them turn screws n shit so if they got hurt watching… they’d be just as fugged i guess.

your missing my point

i could have also put.

screwdriver in the eye
brake cleaner ingestion
welder to the face
torque wrench through the femur
fingers jammed in turbine blades
the list goes on.

but you see my point.

I think the majority of shops, at least the ones I’ve been to, are pretty lax about letting customers in the work area.

At the same time, Sasha has to take some degree of responsibility for his own property and the final decision rests with him as to whether or not he feels confident enough in people’s ability to be safe.

Wavers and all are great but ultimately they won’t save the headaches associated with an accident caused by negligence. I’m sure Sasha will be able to determine who is a jackass noob and who can lift their car properly.
If he isn’t 100% confident, his request to make someone observe the proper procedure is fair and a good way to maintain a safe working environment as well as prevent damage to the equipment (e.g. a burnt motor from noobs starting once every second).
On top of the hourly fee, whoever does their own work at Sequence owes Sasha peace of mind.

Can’t have this happening now can we:

Well obviously Sasha shouldn’t let anyone in that he doesn’t deem capable of working on their own car. For the rest, accidents do happen so why not have everyone sign a paper saying that the person working on the car takes full responsibility for any fuck up.

:fnf2:

you are still missing the point.

MOST insurance companies will just laugh at that waiver and ask why a non employee was in the shop at ANY time.

I’ve talked to my insurance company and we’ve got the issue sorted out if you want more info greg PM me dude.

Basically it works similar to your school’s autoshop.

Looks like someone didn’t know that lotus is mid engine when they put it on the hoist

ah right on homie… yea im covered as well now… however i just wanted to make sure for your sake too.

GT

HAhahaha! That’s what you get for taking a Lotus to a place that also works on Chrysler minivans.

I hear they make good rust in canada, turns steel into pasta sauce

it’s a good idea, and one that’s been done by all the diy garages, there is/was? one on hi27 … the idea is they have empty drive bays where you bring the car to work on it, certain tools are included in the hourly fee, and of course the mandatory you-lose-it-you-buy-it policy

but having help around even for advice will make things much smoother for the average write-up reader haha
