His tune in NJ was stock injectors/stock turbo/stock inlet/ect…NJ was when he found out his stock turbo wouldn’t make boost (hence the crazy high target numbers in the boost map)…I didn’t look at any of the timing stuff so I can’t comment one way or the other. That’s all I have to say about that. :nod

God is this kid stupid, when is Darwin gonna step in and claim another stupid animal.
…and from a thread that was already split into the battlefield I might add. :haha :lol
wow thats a whole lotta shit on travs end now to find out more of the story ive known trav for like 8 years now and this seams to top all other claims on him made by him .i knew the story had holes in it from him but god damn thats a minefield. well whoever did his car now did a good job as long as trav could put in a oxy sensor and get back in his tune as his c.e.l has been on since he got car back aon a smoked 02.
just for trav…
Travis has just been going down the line blaming people for his issues. When that person shows up to defend their reputation, he just moves on to the next person to blame. Who’s up next?
prolly me for puttin in a used 02 sensor in his sti :ponder
Don’t work on it anymore lol
I know…even better!
and I think this sums it up for travis :stfu
Travis issues is he has the maturity level of a 5th grader and probably will his entire life. Somewhere along his teeange years he missed the whole step where you grow up and become responsible for yourself. Hes gonna make excuses for himself till the day he dies. He has never taken responisbility for anything and will blame some one else for every issue. I could go on for days but its time for me to go to work. Keep on Travis bashing. :rofl
Just wanted to add a few things to this. I’m not sure where the lack of knowledge is on this post. I think it’s on both ends.
Let me start by saying that the factory ecu doesn’t control fuel pressure. In fact, the factory ecu doesn’t even monitor fuel pressure. So how the hell I set the fuel pressure, I will never know. I’m also wondering how fuel pressure is going to blow a hole through a piston… it’s only 43psi… maybe travis’s car has 16,000psi fuel system like a diesel or something?
Regarding injector scaling:
LOL. The ignorance of some people is baffling. Yes his injectors were set to 750. Shit, Byrons are set to 580cc IIRC, My 900cc injectors are set to 680. Fuel lnjector scaling and MAF calibration are a balance. You can adjust either one to yeild the same/proper results. It all depends on how the engine is running. Plus, the software is not accurate with the injector scaling number. That’s why an STi comes with a scaling of 505 when the injectors flow 565cc. OMG OVERFUELING CYLINDER WASHDOWN TUNES FROM THE FACTORY?!?!?!?? WWW.GETABLOWNASSENGINESTRAIGHTFROMSUBARU.COM!!!
The scaling is a starting point. Plain and simple. The fact that the other tuner reacted that way (and made comments about fuel pressure) makes me question his tuning knowledge. FUEL PRESSURE??? ARE YOU SERIOUS?
But lets do the math real quick to put this whole 12 gallons of gas bullshit to bed. Using direct values to make me as wrong as possible…
850/750 = 13% too much fuel (using the other tuner guys logic)
The factory ecu in closed loop has a learned capability of +/- 25% PLUS an instantaneous fuel correction of +/- 25%.
That means that as long as the car is closed loop for more than a few minutes (at operating temperature) the ecu can pull or add as much as 50% fuel. This means that even if I scaled those bitches for 600cc, the ecu could properly control fuel while cruising down the highway.
hmmm… so how on earth did he go through so much fuel? I bet it’s because he wasn’t closed loop. Probably driving the car hard all the way up there. Or there was another component failure like an 02 sensor, or a major air leak (vacuum or boost leak) This again, puts the blame right on his shoulders.
I did adjust more than just the scaling. I adjusted his MAF cal at idle, his scaling, and his timing map as expressed earlier to bring the timing down to something safer than 28* at full boost at 4k rpm. I’ll still submit both tunes if desired.

Sorry this turned into such a bashfest, but my friends asked me to respond because they were tired of seeing me get trashed on repeatedly by this guy. I’m honestly tired of it as well.
It saddening when everytime an engine takes a shit the first thing EVERYONE says is :“its the tune, the tune did it” Oil change history, driver’s habits, fuel quality, maintenance records or component failures are rarely ever blamed.
Good to see some actual logic being applied here :thumb
Seth at Moon DEFINITELY knows what he’s doing, I think Travis is probably just poorly regurgitating Seth’s explanation.
I wasn’t talking about Seth. He’s very knowledgable and a real cool dude.
I think I was talking about the 1320 ride guy or something from some post Travis quoted. “oh my fucking god the injector scaling…”
-Dominic
1320ride is Travis’ old screen name.
And we all know how fucking dumb he is.
funny you should say that…
:rofl Nice Byron
Wow, you all have blood on your hands if he just hangs it up! :wow
