What car should I buy?!?!?

Thanks guys. I have been a fan of this car for many years, hopefully now that I can actually get one I will be happy with it. In 2003 this car was probably the most impressive on the market and even today to me it remains uber impressive to me.
As far as getting to anything under the hood goes; what drew me to this particular example is the fact that it has had EXSTENSIVE work done with the engine removed about only 5000 miles ago.
That being said I am looking into a manual tranny or an upgraded valve body job which won’t be cheap at all. These trannys don’t like to shift at 7000rpm with 700ft-lbs of tq.

lol disgusting

Congrats!

LOL @ Ricer math.

I don’t know what that means. Only God knows what the actual numbers are so I threw out some round numbers to make a point.:gotme:

Sidenote because I can never remember…

It is not ft/lb (feet PER pound) nor lb/ft (pounds PER foot), but either “ft-lbs” (feet * pounds) or, less common but just as accurate, “lbs-ft” (pounds * feet).

Torque is multiplied by either the force, in this case “pounds”, or by the distance from the axis that the force is applied, in this case “feet”. Both the higher the force and the greater the distance from the axis, the greater the torque.

So I went to Rochester to look at a Volvo S60R today and I have never been so underwelmed. 296 hp? Holy slow! My fathers m35x autotragic boat would smoke that slug. Has anyone driven one? Are they all that slow or was there something wrong with that one? It ran OK but never pulled hard. It felt more like 220hp. They built it to compete with the M3 and S4? lol

That is ricer math haha.

Anyhow on the S60R I drove one before and could certainly feel it pull under boost but it was never really impressive. They are certainly not a very quick car but I think I could have fun driving it. Did you deal with parking it in a tight space? Steering is terrible. After driving one once I never considered them again.

I owned an S60R for a year, and absolutely loved it. Wish I was in a financial place to buy another one. The steering ratio was my only gripe on that car.

such an awesome car for sure.

edit just to be clear im talking about the RS6 and not the s60r

The eagle has landed!!! (Yeah I am still psyched)
The guy was going to be out of town until today but he called Saturday to say he was home and my dad and sister happen to be at my aunts house ten minutes away. They came home today with the car! My dad said it ran great the entire 450 mile trip.

Another newb question; The methanol in the tank is blue but the refills he gave me are clear and read DEVIL’SOWN “alcohol mix”. Is clear DEVIL’SOWN alcohol the same as blue methanol juice?

Drink it, it’s moonshine.

Well it was south of the Mason Dixen line. lol

On zee highway

DevilsOwn Brew ™ is DevilsOwn proprietary mix of 49% methanol and 51% water

I am guessing the blue is simply windshied washer fluid which is commonly used. Typically blue winter mix is closest to 50/50.

Congrats on getting it home!

Yep, sounds like the dude is using washer fluid. Go get straight meh and mix it 50/50. Nice purchase, got a mod list? I’m curious about the older RS6’s, as they are just about the only modern Audi I haven’t driven (well, the new RS6 either, or the V10 R8.).

Volvo s60r? HAHAHAHA. Such a pile of shit. Expensive to maintain, no power, awful suspension, shit interior, shit styling. Wait, what is there to like?

I would also like to state that on the devils on forum their own techs know less about meth then I do. I know very little about meth…I would probably not continue to use their product.

When I was using meth I just grabbed it from Innovative and mixed it myself. I might be using it again on the FD but not to assist in power just to be a layer of safety against bad gas when I start going really high boost.

lol.

Thanks for the info gents. I thought you were kidding about washer fluid. lol
The S60R was definately not cool in anyway.

Quick list of mods…
Hybrid turbos
Snow performance meth injection
EPL custom dyno tune
IPT torque converter
Turbo timer
kw v3 coilovers
Sway bars (not sure of exact details yet)
DPE S15 19x9.5 wheels (I was thinking HRE before)
The car made 450whp/550wtq on mustang awd dyno.

whats it weigh in at?

oh and how is the quattro setup in these? 50/50? 60/40?

I absolutely wanted to love and own a S60R until I drove one. After that I never ever wanted one.
