what clutches do people use and like?

I’m running a Nismo Ceramic A with 750KG pressure plate. Awsome grab, feels heave but also not for the faint of heart.

When i was with Intense Motorsports they dropped a sweet Exedy Carbon Twin plate in a 350Z w/ a APS Twin Turbo Setup…

Soon I’ll be running an Exedy Stage 2 w/ Heavy Duty Pressure Plate on a stock KA24DE with aftermarket header, underdrive pulley & intake…

We’ll see how it does, has anyone ran the same setup before? Give me your feedback.

allan, look on zilvia on the tech section.

i posted there.
did some research on exedy, good reviews but there seems to be a common problem.

read the zilvia tech post

lemme know how it goes, good luck breh

edit: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=115573&highlight=clutch

seems like the problem is with high engagement and engagment point changing which is caused by the hyper-extention of the PP

so no clutch kicking for me? or only very little moderation?

thanks for the heads up samson, i’ll read up…

act 6 puck is great

I dunno about others but I can’t launch for shit with an ACT 6-puck unsprung.

Thinkign about getting a sprung disc (and keeping the HD PP)

oh snap.

I’ve got an Exedy Hyper Single w/ flywheel. Very streetable clutch with a good grip. It does take a little while to get used to, but won’t leave you limping with a sore left leg.

I run a Centerforce Dual Friction on my KA24DE, it’s been in for 3 years and showing it’s age… well it’s that or my VLSD.

It’s a fine clutch and my car has had many complements for being stock.

Hey Tony, are u coming for the next dunnville lapping day? Where were you at the last 2!

wow, that kit retails for at least $1100 USD but also comes with a lightened flywheel.

I was unable to make the July 15th due to a Baptism I had to attend. Not 100% sure if I will be at the next Dunnville track day, since I might be going to Shannonville that day.

I got mine for just under $1000 USD. It’s really not that bad of a price for what you get, since a good aftermarket flywheel can go around $450. As I said, its very streetable clutch/flywheel setup.

SPEC Stage 4+ unsprung

Pedal is buttery smooth, and I can literally feel motor mounts, tranny mount and diff mount shriek in terror when it grabs. Shredded a stub axle in my TRD 1.5-way clutch kicking. Still whisper quiet - for a stage 4+.

Then again, I’m making less than 200 lb-ft and maybe 150hp.

I’ve always used Dynapack rebuilds on Nissans (just like eurodrive). Never had much bite though. That’s what you get with kevlar.

thanks alot for all the input.

if you like removing transmissions and buying new ones get an exedy twin plate.
Its an awesome track clutch. Just it blows your third to pieces all the time.
Awesome in a z tranny tho
