I found some old numbers from 2002.(the rich actually pay more currently)
Only 11,000,000 people pay 37.5% of the total tax income.
That is more than 1/3 of all tax revenue is covered by only 11,000,000 people!!!
56% is paid by the top 5%.
67% is paid by the top 10%.
84% is paid by the top 25%.
96% is paid by the top 50%.
3.9% is paid by the bottom 50%!!!
I REPEAT 3.9% is paid by the bottom 50%!!!
HALF of the country combined only pays 3.9%!!!

Hey I’m all for a realistic flat tax of 25% on EVERY DOLLAR YOU MAKE (first 22K excluded, 44K combined) That means inheritance, investments, bonus’, anything. If you make $100 million, you pay $25 million in taxes. Getting 10 million when gramps dies? Thanks for the 2.5 million in taxes!

ps - this would be a tax cut for well over 80% of people. In fact that might be too low of a flat rate, maybe 30% would be better
