What has 2 turbos, a supercharger, a standard transmission, and runs 9.4 on dr's?

Tony Alm’s 08 GT500. Stock block and crank, rebuilt stock transmission, speck P-trim clutch, 9 inch with 3.70 gears, stock supercharger and hellion TT kit with 64mm turbos.

Best pass of 9.49 @ 155 on 39lbs of boost running E85 and using drag radials. Car looks uber-stock too.

Great article on the car in the April issue of 5.0 Mustangs and Super Fords but it isn’t available on-line yet.

Car made over 1200rwhp for hellion, at the KOTS it made 1137 and 1139 and ran a 9.7.

only a 9.49? car should be a 9.1-8.9 car with that MPH…and HP

That’s still incredibly impressive.

That’s impressive for a stock iron block. I’m aiming for 800’ish at the wheels.

He’s launching with a stick and shifting 4 times, give him some slack. There aren’t that many stock style manual trans cars going 8’s.

Read that article 10x over… Very nice setup, and it has to be a blast on the street.

Dope

38stang no doubt this car has lower 9s in it but that takes tons of track time to get a manual trans car there.

Nice.

Turbo Mustang might be coming soon too;

Speaking to an audience at Princeton last night, Ford chairman Bill Ford Jr. took a few questions afterward, including one from Jalopnik reader Michael, who asked if the Ecoboost engine line would reach under the Mustang’s hood. Ford said yes, it would, without spilling the goods on whether it would be the 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo (most likely) or the 2-liter four-cylinder (less so, but maybe on an entry level).

We followed up with Ford PR folks who told us they were not going to deny it if the Ford family scion said it.

So nice

I love when people make claims like this.

that’s not a claim, that’s a plan. why all the hate?

I have probably read that 500 times and seen it come to fruition 1 time.

newman is allowed to call it like that because he’s the 1 time

drag racing is meh…

car is rad though

Yeah, but 800rwhp on a GT500 is direct bolt on shit, haha. Not even kidding; swap to a big twin screw, full exhaust, throw in a few fuel pumps, big injectors, a better clutch and there you are.

Boom.

i had no doubts.

haha, LS1 stock records make this so silly. 9.4 is fast, but 3 power adders, your doing it wrong. Come on 9.6 has been ran on a stock LS1 shortblock, with heads/cam, no power adder. And 9.0 on stock cubes NA

If you figure it out this setup has to have close to the size in power adders, as the engine is displacing in cubic inches.

God it is amazing to me how much fail can come ion these threads.

Mustang guy, do you at least heave the parts? PLEASE tell me you at least own the parts and are installing them right now before you try to make hp claims.

Studderin, you really think every car is going to et like a strict drag car that is super gutted and probably has more track passes then this car has miles? really?

HP claims are like threads claiming 9 second cars as 8 second cars lol.

It has to be close to impossible to run in the 8’s with a normal 5 speed (not a clutchless unit). There is just so much going on in a few seconds…

It gets really hard. I know I had no problem ringing out a 10.9 last year with 400rwhp and honestly will be happy with a 9.9 with 700-800rwhp this year. For guys that purely set the car up for the track and get 200 passes a season I am sure they could do a low 9. But not many people(myself included) have the time/desire. Building something outrageous like this thread is about is cool enough for me!
