what size balljoint fork do i need?

i have a 99 civic ex. I’m in the process of putting a new clutch and i need to know what size balljoint fork i need.

Any help would be great.

nevermind, i figured that out…now another stupid question…where do u put my mtf fluid in

In the fill hole

no not in the fill hole, fill it from the speedo sensor hole an the top of the tranny check w/ honda to see what the capasity is, use 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil. DO NOT USE GEAR OIL

You do not need a balljoint fork, there is a easy trick you can do.

  1. With the car on jackstands, use another jack to lift up the corner by placing a jack under the rotor hat. Remove the lower ball joint castle nut.

  2. With the suspension still jacked up, place a Craftsman ratchet between the top of the lower control arm and the bottom of the knuckle, being careful not to damage the boot of the ball joint.

  3. Lower the jack slowly so that the ratchet gets wedged in place, grab a beer, and in a few minutes the spring pressure from the strut assembly will pop it right off.

or stop hitting the bitch w/ your purse and use a hammer to split the two.

i would also suggest a larger hammer

big hammers rule. rubber mallets are a close second.

an air chisel with the ball joint fork attachment works great, or snap on 32oz deadblow hammer and regular fork.

forks tear ball joint boots. use a prybar to pry and hammer on the control arm to vibrate loose.

thats why i like the air chisel, i don’t ever remember tearing one with that

BFH always works for me. I never have liked ball joint forks due to them ripping the boots.
