WHAT THE HELL IS AN SR TRANNY?? HELP NEEDED ASAP

hey guys i need to know what gascket kit to order for my s13 blacktop sr20 the input shaft seal is leaking and needs to be replaced but nobody knows what the tranny is or does anybody know where i can get this seal or even tranny if the price is right thanks boys any help is much appreciated

SR’s are the same KA tranny with a different bellhousing… I’m not sure about gearing, the casing is the same…

Didn’t you take a look at the old KA tranny before you swapped in the SR? Or did you get someone else to swap it for you?

i heard the s14 sr20 tranny is much stronger and has a shorter gear ratio

no i baught the car with the sr already in it ive been driving it for a year but no its started to leak

Yes…

I’ve had both apart side by side. KA trannies arem uch weaker than their SR counterpart, but they fit it all into the same size casing. The SR has much thicker gears, and especially the shifter arms. Also, the SR tranny uses a real arm for the reverse gear, not a silly shift linkage.

you can use The right stuff gasket maker (canadian tire) or any other oil resistant gasket maker

i chose to have the bearings and seals replaced at rons transmission they are doing all the work for 1200 which is a little pricey but at least now ill have a minty fresh tranny for the season
