Going to use this wasted space for built in shelving. In the process I felt a draft. I went searching and found some gaps between 2x4s and brick
…then as the light moved I found this.
At first I thought a face hugger was going to jump out, then realized its a wasp nest. Its all mud.
Im thinking its still active right…There probably in there trying to stay warm. Its not like they buzz south for the winter.
How should I remove this:
1)call some trained pro
2)paint ball gun
3)my saw
4)drill a hole in the top and pour bleach inside
Yea the roof was replaced 4 yrs ago.
That whole area is the same temp as outside so…currently its freezing in there. I gotta do something b4 it gets warmer outside.
What if I cut a hole for them to escape but greet them with a few electric fly swatters
sometimes I look at it and see a body laying down…maybe its a frign mummy
1.) fire
2.) use an air bellow to get temperature excess of 1400°F
3.) Slowly reduce the temperature to temper
4.) Scrape bees from nest
5.) Remove your new pottery
6.) Profit.
At first I was like, “You opened up your wall and found a dude trapped in there?!”
I’d probably lightly tap on the nest with a long stick and see if there is a reaction. If it starts buzzing like crazy call in a pro. Have a couple cans of that wasp/hornet spray ready. If it seems dormant after the tapping knock a hole in it. Spray it with the killer, wait a bit, repeat hole/spray routine.
I’m crazy like that I guess. Leave yourself an escape plan and make sure no one else is in the house when you’re doing this.
