Well, the S2k was designed for pretty much the exact purpose you want a vehicle for. If you can get over the looks of the car and just drive it for the fun factor.
I can understand you want to not want to own a car you think is ugly though, since you do have to look at it everyday. But then again, there is no one who buys a WRX because they think it looks sexy…
LOL at an S2000 being ugly. Iv driven a friends s2k a bunch of times, sooooo much fun to whip around in plus honda reliability and you have some options to mod it if you want to.
S2k gets my vote. You wont be disappointed.

Can you find an older high mileage 996 C4. From what I have hear, they wear like iron, so a high mileage one might not be bad. I can’t think of anything more awesome than a C4 winter car.
