4.6 to 60… riiiight. C6 Z06 = well under 4. Handling in excess of 1g on the skidpad (meaningless number anyway). Those are the predictions anyhow. What’s not a prediction is the power to weight ratio.
The power to weight of the vette trumps the Elise’s by 3/5ths. IN OTHER WORDS, Elise rings in ats about 10.6lbs / hp. The Vette: 6lbs / hp. And the torque to weight? Haha you don’t even want to know. Try 15lbs / lb-ft for the Elise and … lol, 6.3lbs / lb-ft for the Vette. Who’s owned now?
It’s just typical ignorance (and retardedness) on your part Solarian. “wow its american it must AUTOMATICALLY and INTRINSICALLY be inferior”. Try again…
ferrari would have something to say against that…and so would lotus, cosworth, jaguar, bmw, mercades, holden…oh wait thats a gm company so that must be bad…nothing good comes from austrailia…
nope i dont like holdens, when i was in australia i drove a comadore, and i was unimpressed with it for the same reason im un impressed with gm cars.
i like the fords though. they make more HP than the holdens too
Is this track a circle? And define race-prepped please. With a 0-100 of 4.6 seconds, a bone stock Elise is by no means slow. The C6 Z06 will put down a slightly better time, but even with prodigious OMFG USDM TYTE V8 POWWA y0!! w00t w00t! h4XX0rzzzz frame design and whatever the hell else, it won’t handle better than the Elise which weighs a THOUSAND lbs LESS!! That’s ONE FAT AMERICAN ASS LESS than the Z06 C6. No. It won’t. Never. Even if you bend or break the 2nd law of thermodynamics. No. Even if you get magical super-stick rubber and Harry Potter on steroids is driving it and shifting with his wizard’s wand. Put it on a real track and the Elise will take a dump (or several dumps) on the chubby domestic competition.
For the record, I love the Elise far more than the 'Vette.
However, go grab the March R&T and a spoon, so you can eat your words.
Race prepped is defined as track tuned suspension, forged wheels and Yoko A048s. Not to mention the Elise is basically a race prepped car out of the box, especially compared to the C6.
Buttonwillow West Loop:
The stock C6 'Vette took the Elise by over a second on a ~minute long course. Add in a Z06 package and you can count on another second at least. The Elise bests it by 2mph in the slalom, and by .05g on the skidpad. Again, add the Z06 package and count on second place. Even in stock form, the 'Vette’s brakes are better, and so is acceleration. The C6 does 0-100km in 4.5 seconds, again the ZO6 would be closer to 4… quarter mile 12.8 stock, ZO6 not even close.
A final FYI: the Viper (the only other American car in the test) also posted a better lap time, as did the Boxter and Carerra.
There’s personal preference, then there’s numbers. Six of one, half dozen of the other, pick which you like.
You dont need to get all offended and trash talk the other options, each are viable and have strenghts and weaknesses blah blah blah, I’m bailing with Mike.

Anyways, we need less agression in this thread… Ronnie is trying to be civil, rotor wa would be if we didn’t have the rest of you goofs stepping in and pushing everyones buttons. Cr0usEEE you sound like a grade 4 kid at recess… try and be a little more civil - this is a good discussion… sort of.
dude your working your way down the list from barely tolerable to spilner-esque…
you have no clue what I am talking aboutthat is not YOUR $20 weapon R lowgrade crome plated POS… is a fully CNC macined 1.5" OD, .250" wall 7075-T6 bar secured by two billet mounts with a flange base of 5/8" , inset lenght of 3" mounted to the rear seat mailbolting points that have been reinforced with gussets… the belts are attached using 6061-T6 1/8" x1.1/8" widewrapped strapping with 1x1x4" block of 7075 double bolted to the stapping with 8.8grade 8mm bolts and holding the rear belt mounts into the block is a 12mm 9.8 grade bolt 90 to the 8mm retain bolts on each side… this setup is designed to take a static shock load of the weight of the car , not just a single person but over a tonne. with less then 10% extension in the strapping.
ok all you morons who question my work, my tech info, my design ideas and have something stupid ass like the above to say to me remeber this and think, read, learn or ask intelleigent questions that can be answered intelligently … A holes get the Ahole response , smart people get the smart response…
I have seen Ian’s work and his fabrication skills are top notch. Be it with the welder, CNC machine, fiberglass or carbon fiber his shizzle has always looked good. It’s his internet manners that rub me the wrong way  …can’t we all just get along? -El
You both are arguing that the C6 Z06 is faster than an Elise. I know THAT. I’m saying, the Elise will HANDLE better by a longshot. Put it on a small tight track which isn’t 99% straightaways like the one you posted, and it will do it’s stuff. I mean, it weighs 1000lbs less for fuck’s sake! How can you even think otherwise?
Rotor. Can you post pics and writeups of what you have built?
You seem to talk a lot and tell people that they know nothing…I personally would like to know what you have done to you 13BT to make it run 550HP. If you indeed to do have a 550hp FC, I would LOVE to know what is done to it so that it does not blowup. I do love the rotary, but I do know it’s problems and fineline hellish tuning.
…and relax…stop acting so defensive all the time. Not everyone is “out to get you.”
If the purpose of your posts are to stir sh*t and to make people very angry, then you’re doing a great job.
If you WANT to educate people and have them see what you see, then try presenting things in a way that people will respond to. That is after all, what a forum is for…to interact in a positive manner with people. To learn from others, to TEACH others and to ADD to the community in question…NOT TO INSULT people and prove how much "smarter"you are and how much more you know.
Show me some stuff you’ve done to your FC as your MKIII Supra doesn’t really do anything to improve your standpoint. I’d love to learn more about tuning a 13Bt to make 550HP and no blow up in a daily driving environment. I would pay you to build me one in fact…as I suck at tuning.
I have a buddy selling a 13B Rotory engine. Im PRETTY SURE thats what he said (89-90 rx7 motor i think). With 47k on it, also with receipts from Mazda. Hes asking $1200 for it, complete with turbo and tranny. Let me know.
Not trying to offend anyone here, you all seem just a little too worked up.
GLI, Rotor Wa, DTS, Ronnie… if you are not posting something that includes actual content adding to the discussion, please send it via pm.
I know you are trying to protect yourself from “slander” but keep in mind your reputation is built on solid evidence, not how you respond to flames. Besides… no-one but the people you are arguing with read those long ass posts.
We know which car is lighter. However there are other considerations. Weight to tire patch comparisons might make the handling contest more level in your eyes.
I’d like to drive both of these cars back to back.
he’ll be hard pressed to sell it in Canada given that most JDM 13BT low miles are about the same cost. May have better luck in the US where 13BT prices are in the $2000usd range. But he may get lucky and sell the parts right away .
^^^THIS SHIT NEEDS PICS Pics of said Ian built 4 rotor would help this thread be more than just a bitch-fest.
NOW WOULD BE A PERFECT TIME TO POST YOUR LAP TIMES FOR A KNOWN TRACK
THIS SHIT IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT DYNO SHEETS
Ian that’s some serious comentary there. Of course big challenges like that can’t be left to wither on the vine. You will of course bring one of your cars to our annual SON/NEO track event and beat all the cars there because of your superior driving skill and dyno proven 550whp FC etc. But to be fair Ian, the last time I saw your cars (IIRC) the FC was NA, automatic but did feature some nifty stickers. The Supra, (which is your mom’s car right?) had a body kit, some Skyline tails and an automatic NA motor and the Escort ZX2 had a fuel cell and some tube framing but thankfully no automatic NA motor…or any motor at all. Now to give you credit that was a year ago and you had some serious plans for all the cars. Now as fun as it is bickering on the interweb won’t prove a thing. So to the track we all should go and have a day of fun and frolic and FC domination.
I’m trying to be nice Look at all my smilies I like everyone Except Bob who I will of course spend the rest of my life trying to hunt down for my trophy wall  j/k
