Well as soon as I sell my 240 I will need to get another car for work.
So now I need to figure out what to get. I am looking for something that is Fun but also nice to spend lots of time in as I work on the Road. at this point I have about 4 cars that I am really looking at. I would be importing any of these from the US to get a better deal.
All cars are Manual
at around the 20G mark I am looking at
2005-2006 Subaru Legacy GT 40000 Miles or less
2006-2007 Subaru WRX 40000 Miles or less
2006-2007 MazdaSpeed 3 30000 Miles or Less
2006 Saab 9-3 Aero 30000 Miles or Less
Let me know what you think as well as if you have other suggestions.
p.s. I do have a pickey preferance for my interiors
p.s.s someone please Buy my Sil40, Ill give ya a good deal.
but there is soooo much downward pressure on pricing right now it doesnt make sense to buy a $25k car, even for work.
you’d be much better off getting a $7k 02 maxima that wont lose as much $$$ in the next 24 months. sell if for $5k when you’re done and pick up any of the cars listed above for 30% less.
Considering how much driivng you do, get a 2001 or so Jetta TDI… chip it, get 900km’s to a tank and make all your money back on the mileage. my old boss made $3k profit a year on mileage alone.
G35 coupes will be under $20k all day long next summer.
i ended up buying a Kouki off here with an Sr… paid top dollar imho, but with the motor and the little mods i’ll do to it i’ll still get 80% of my money back in 2-3 years.
teh car got 670km’s to the last tank and costs half as much on insurance… and WAY less in interest…lol (compared to a G35c)
2005-2006 Subaru Legacy GT 40000 Miles or less
Decent
2006-2007 Subaru WRX 40000 Miles or less
Decent
2006-2007 MazdaSpeed 3 30000 Miles or Less
Gay
2006 Saab 9-3 Aero 30000 Miles or Less
Gay
Up to you man, but I wouldn’t advise you spend a large amount of money on a car. I regret sinking that much money into mine, because really, I don’t need a high end car, and I don’t really make good use of it driving it to work and back.
At the same time, I like your approach to car buying. The flaw with how most people here shop, is they look for the cheapest one on the trader. Ideally, you should be looking at the most expensive ones, because when buying a non-project car, you want as clean and unmolested of an example as you can get.
Jordan all of those have like 80000+km on them
to much milage.
I know you said the Mazda and Saab are gay because they are FF but again this is not a weekend beater for me. this is a car that I will spend over 20 hours a week in. So I want something fun and comfortable. I actually drive a Mazdaspeed 3 today and it was actually a very nice and fun car.
Mike if you look around most people have preffered the 3 to the 6 just because it actually has a much better interion handels better and is quicker.
A lot comes down to price though. I am not going to get the bottom of the barrel because that will usualy cost more money in the end like my current Legacy.
Well as soon as one of you get my 240 we will know what I am getting.
Get the Saab 9-3 Aero. Awesome and comfortable car to boot around in. Haven’t had much problems with mine. Very smooth. Boost is there. Could use some work in the body roll department. All it needs to look good is to lower it and maybe some wheels. But I know you won’t go JUST that far hehe.
