Ok, Imagine you had 6 months of no obligations, no work, no school and only a few thousand dollars total to spend during those 6 months, what would you do?
The problem is the limited funds so it makes it interesting.
So far I am thinking about two things:
1.) Riding a bicycle around the USA
2.) Long camping/biking/wilderness survival trip.
I am not unemployed. I plan on taking a semester off from school and a leave of absence from work for one semester to have some adventure in my life before I get married and start a career. Ok, lets just say $5000 cash.
I’d just relax for a little bit. Take a cheap drive up to the Adirondacks for a couple weeks, maybe NYC for a weekend? I don’t know what you’re into. Ultimately, I’d end up in Europe at some point for an extended period of time.
I just want some adventure. If don’t convince myself soon of what I am going to do I will just end up working 50 hours a week and buying a sports car that I will get sick of in a year. I would rather have half a year to travel and have something to remember for the rest of my life.
Id probably finish school then go to Europe or Australia. I wouldnt take a semester off though. 6 months is a little long to survive on 5k. Just use the summer months and travel for 1-2 months.
If you take $15 a day to eat. Thats over half your money right there in 6 months. If you want to be a hobo, have fun.
Flew to Colorado and drove aimlessly through 12 National Parks all the way to California through Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and back.
No care in the world. Where ever i felt like stopping i set up a tent and spent the night. By far the most spectacular experience. That only lasted 3.5weeks though because i had a rental car. But you could easily extend it with a bike.
I can give you an extensive list:
In no order…
1.) Great Sand Dunes
2.) Goblin Valley
3.) Capital Reef National Park
4.) Bryce Canyon
5.) Vegas
6.) Joshua Tree
7.) Zion
8.) Death Valley
9.) Grand Canyon
10.) San Francisco
11.) Lake Tahoe
12.) Delicate Arch
13.) Great Arch
14.) Coral Sand Dunes
15.) Valley of the Gods
16.) Moab
17.) Yosemite
Hiked for miles through canyons and rivers. Went tubing on the Colardo River through gorges. Camped on the edge of cliffs. (pooped off of one too!)
I would sleep in, work out a lot, absolutely rage it several nights a week, fuck a bunch of whores, and day-trade in my bathrobe from my couch during the day to double or triple my money in a lifestyle that resembles The Dude.
