Interesting thread. I will say that I am planning a cross country trip that will be 2-3 weeks. Then i would do like what joe said and live like the dude. I would like to have some solid “dude” time before I become too adult.
rent a place in florida near the beach and just hang out on the beach for a few months.That or just take a hell of a road trip along the pacific ocean similar to what Josh did.
3 mos in FL and 3 mos out west.There a go.

I just don’t see this going well on $5,000. As was stated before, your food costs will eat up near to half of that. And you have NO bills? No cell phone bill, no car loan, car insurance that may be mandated by your car loan, etc?
I get that you want to have a little fun before you die, but maybe you should decide what you want to do FIRST, then start calculating out the costs? Last thing you want is to be “living carefree without stressing about money” only to find you’ve run out.
I’m also a pessimist by day.

i don’t really feel like you have enough money to justify this, but if the situation is exactly what you say it is, i’d go to some country where 5 grand takes you far and just have some fun and get some different perspective.
