Whats the best way to Polish Taillights?

I want to polish mny CRX taillights to look new again. What is the best stuff to use with a buffer and if I cant get my hands on one what would be the best stuff to use without one? They have a few light scratches and such, should i wetsand them first and then buff them out? What are some suggestions?

i’m pretty sure i read a DYI thread on here a couple months back…whoever did the thread did more than buff…like wet sanding etc… they looked brand new when they were done

this isnt what i remember, but i believe it was somewhat the same process…hope this helps

wait…when did you get another crx shawn? are you swapping and building this one?

wetsand with 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000

start lower if they are rough. DO NOT apply any pressure. Just lightly… enough to get the paper to bite. Use plenty of water.

You can buff them out by hand using a rag and rubbing compound line 3M but a buffer would be easier. Doing the finish buff by hand is not hard. You just need to be gentle.

You can also shoot them with a clearcoat for the same effect and added protection.

^^^^ ill shoot you with some clear stuff oh wait looks a little milky

I bought it last summer, just gonna restore it to original condition
