for me, i hate seeing my needle below 1/4 tank. i try to keep it above F at all times, its funny because i’ll fill all the way up and it wont move of the F mark for at least 3 days or so (about 50 miles)
so do you have any pet peeves on where your needle is?
Hmmm, on second thought, maybe this is what’s wrong with society - rewarding those that meet the lowest expected of them instead of exceeding it. I take it back, you’re actually bringing humanity down. j/k!
I thought it was bad to let your fuel get below 1/4 tank?
On a side note, I filled up the other day, it took 11.6 gallons (I have a 12 gallon tank), and my idiot light never came on, because the needle never went below 1/8 tank.
I let the gauge go down all the way so I get the most savings with my giant eagle advantage card :D:D:D
The truck gets gas at 1/4 because the gauge is fucked up and I have no idea if it is right or not and the altima usually gets gas when it gets below 1/4 but before the idiot light comes on.
I usually fill up before the idiot light comes on b/c I am scuuuuuuured to run out of gas :ugh: LOL When I was 16 I ran out of gas in my mom’s truck. Dude at 7-11 wouldn’t let me put gas in a big gulp cup. :ugh: LOL Since then I fill up at 1/4-1/8 tank.
Just driving around I fill up somewhere below a half tank. When i race the civic i have to keep it above half, due to fuel stavre while turning.(the stickier the tires the worse it gets)
Trans Am
Below E. Because everytime I fill up after its below E, it only takes 14.xx gallons. It is a 16.8 gallon tank so I still have at least 2 gallons when Im below E. Shitty guages.
GTO
I run that badboy right down to the computer telling me it has 2 miles to go. Then I go to GE and use my advantage card for savings.
all you fuel injection drivers will love getting your pumps replaced cause you keep running it low. Its a shitty smelly job the no one wants to do so yuo pay out the ass.
and who the fuck are tom and ray. do you believe everything you read on the net? I regularly ran my cutlass ciera low and went through two pumps in 3 years, they werent the garbage ones you get from pepboys either.
Tom and Ray are the guys who’ve done CarTalk in all the national newspapers for ages… they were just the first source that popped up when i typed in “fuel pump myth”.
