I do my best not to go to shitty clubs and bars im not familiar with.
I stick to what i know, so i don’t get dissapointed usually.
Most jungle, or house clubs i go to will have the regular locals spinning. And i’m used to their musical tastes.

While in Whistler on St. Pats day, we went to this bar called Tommy’s right in the village.
Tommy’s has the DJ in a glass walled box right in the middle of the room, kinda like this: Stage, dance floor, dj box, then the large bar behind that.
So, I am watching the dj, at first just watching him bop.
As soon as I saw him scratch, I got interested and started watching closely.
I couldn’t hear the scratching from the speakers so I thought he was just queing up the beat for the next tune… the next tune starts after a 3 second break… No mixing whatsoever.
I watch him play a few more tunes and he is still “scratching”, next thing I see… He is scratching the table with NO RECORD on it!! This guy was useless, I could have done a better job of it just from watching a friend of mine a couple times.
The guy was doing this all night too…Useless :roll:

Thats not a DJ, thats a poor substitute for Winamp.
i have never actually seen a good DJ scratch at a club… i think i might actually enjoy that.
i happen to be a big crystal method fan but when i saw them live i was all… yeah this is cool but its just like listening to them on a really loud stereo.
i cant remember the last time i was impressed at a club… except jazz bands, man everything they do is good.

i dont club too often, it just goes against my theory that the only purpose of going to a club is to get pussy, and i have a gf, so clubs are rather useless to me now… but, if you want to hear good music go to Goverment in Toronto. quality high class talented DJ’s.
i’ve seen so many ridiculous DJ’s its hilarious. the best is when u go to a small town and they play songs from so long ago and they think its brand new.
Guvernment usually has good DJs. If you go on the right nights to places
in Waterloo they have some good DJs too… ask M.
The funniest was when I was at some club… I think it was elements in
Kitchener, and this wigger kid was DJing… Anyways, you know when you
download a song and its corrupt, and it starts freaking out? Well yeah, that
happened and he didnt stop it for like 10 seconds.
I was laughing so hard… I mean people get paid to download songs and
create a playlist? I could do that too y0.
Yeah Guvernment is good, so was Industry. Be careful of chicks with dicks though, and a few batty boys.
You need to listen to some Breaks and Beats if you like scratching and such.

I don’t bother going to clubs anymore the clubs here all suck. To people that don’t know better the clubs in Toronto might be good, but after going to Europe every summer since 1998 and experiencing the clubs out there I don’t even want to look at the clubs here. The clubs in Europe especialy in places like Mykonos Greece, Monaco Monte carlo, Nice France, Ibiza Spain etc. etc. they are amazing clubs with world famous DJ’s. After going to places like that I don’t care about clubs here. The worst club in Mykonos or Ibiza can make the best club in Toronto look like shhit.
New York and Miami are the best places in North america for clubs and good DJ’s. As for Toronto I would say we have the best clubs in Canada, Montreal has some okay places but I still think Toronto is better. There are some good DJ’s in Guvernment and once in a while at Joker.
Sometimes a club experience doesn’t just depend on the club or on the DJ’s it also depends alot with the crowd and the people you are with too.
But I agree with the club meet thing that would be cool we can all get hammered at the club and then go drunken drifting! :lol: … Just joking! …No club meet!.. but drunken drifting is still on :lol: .
