Picked up a car recently that the owner wrapped in vinyl instead of painting it. Quite frankly, my fingers are sore and I sick of peeling this shit off. Anyone know of a place that would take it off for me?
lololol, my s2000 was wrapped too, soooo gayyy lol… the idea of it is hot, but it just looks stupid… my friend took mine off, 307 6083 - Mike.
heat gun is your friend…dont be so lazy lol
Thats what I assumed right from the begining…and thats also what I found everyone says is the best way, but they also say that it still a pain in the a$$ and they are having a hard time getting the adhesive off. I have been dry peeling it a bit here and there whenever I walk by it and it’s not leaving any adhesive behind. So I haven’t tried the gun yet…but I guess I will and see how it goes. But really, I’d rather just pay a bit to have someone take it off…I don’t care if they have to take parts off and they just throw them in the car…I bought it for the drivetrain anyway.
yeah…it doesn’t look horrible, but by no means does it look good. But what I don’t get is the paint really isnt bad underneath it. Sure it has a couple chips and sctatches on the hood and other usual places…Car is orange, I’m no fan of orange, but this shade isn’t too bad on the car.
Where is your buddy located? I would have to tow the car wherever…have the trailer, just not the truck lol
Goo Gone will get the adhesive residue off.
What kind of car is it?
ohh, hes at exit 17 ft edward, hes real cheap, give em a call for a quote… I think alotta people do it just to see what there car would look like painted that color but then agen its juust as expensive if not more expensive then a reg paint job… My paint job underneith the red was a MINT matte black paint job.
Yeah…he said it was over $700 a roll! Ft Edward is a bit farther than I would want to go(in Rotterdam) but if it comes down to it I will give him a call
04 mustang.
Previous owner seemed pretty cool. Car has a slideny sticker on it so maybe a few people here know him.
Sounds like norwoods mustang
Yeah…Got it off of him last weekend. Drive train and suspension is going in my 86
lol if you see him…tell him I am hating the vinyl!!!. Actually, I think I will give him a call…found a toyota key in the car last night
Call dan at tint star. He’s on central. His number is 458-STAR
did he wreck that car or something?
Front end colission…think he said it happened memorial day weekend. Insurance company totaled it out…haven’t figured out why yet(I guess maybe because the airbags deployed)…very fixable. Needs a hood, right fender, front bumper and support, radiator support is pushed in a bit, probably fixable but they are only $150 new. I bought it for the motor trans and wiring plus the 5 lug/4 wheel disc swap for the fox.
You dont want the front spindles for your car. You need '94-'95 spindles. Newer spindles make the wheels stick out too far. You can use the brakes though.
V6 and V8 spindles are the same though.
