does anyone know where to pick one up from? Called ericksen they need part numbers. Does anyone know!?
ever get this figured out? I am interested as well.
why buy a rebuild kit for a t25? i’m sure you can pick up another t25 for the same price. or a little bit more and buy a s14/s15 t28
because picking up another turbo with unknown KM’s on it isn’t a very good use of my money. It could have old leaky seals in it too, or develop them within a year. But if I rebuild mine, then I know it’s good to go for another 100,000km’s! And I would love to buy a ball bearing S14 or S15 turbo, but again, it will be used and in unknown condition. But if you know where to find almost brand new ones for under $500, then please let me know!!
HAHA, 100,000 kms out of a turbo, Yes, that will happen if you drive like an old woman, change the oil regularly, and keep it at stock boost.
Buy another T25 until you can afford a real turbo.
Are you going to attempt the rebuild yourself? It is not an easy task and requires a couple unusual tools. All in all, it is not worth doing, trust me.
Usually turbos are unfortunately throw away items especially if they are OEM spec ones as it usually costs the same if not less to purchase an upgrade item. There are a few places in town that CAN rebuild turbos if you bring them the rebuild kit but they will need to inspect the turbo to make sure the housings and compressor/turbine shafts are without cracks or bent fins then need to be rebuilt as well. I have heard $500 to rebuild in most cases as an average
