i’m learning something new everyday. this is taken directly from a service manual:
CAUTION-
Flywheel mounting bolts should be replaced any time the flywheel is removed. They are stretch bolts, designed to be used only once. Install new bolts using threadlocker or equivalent.
i dunno man… every time i’ve pulled the flywheel i’ve replaced. They are usually a grade 10.9, but that has nothing to do with the composition of the bolt (the material.) if they are truly designed to be reused, then they would hold the proper torque when tightened down. this is why they should be replaced.
