i think all of you suck at math. I dont think many of you add up the final prices of what you build. Throwing around thousand dollar numbers left and right, you dont realize that in the end you spend quite a bit more than 5 gs at the end of the day to get your āreliable srā or ka or whatever. The guy saying 10k is not that unrealistic. If you take into account built motor, turbo setup, tons of misceleanous things, computer, dyno tuning, possibly labour if you dont do it yourself. Even for an SR, same thing, getting a pos 15 year old SR, swapping it, misceleanous items (intercooler, piping, exhaust, possibly turbo upgrade, injector upgrade) things start piling up, 100 here, 500 there, 1000 here, 1000 there.
Itās nice to make an ignorant comment like āoh yeah get an sr for 2500-3000ā and not consider all the other money you will spend. Same with a KA, you dont just slap together a 1000$ kat with junkyard parts and expect super long term reliability and say āyeah its faster than my buddies lightly moded SRā. Think peopleā¦
Realistically to build a descent setup that will push 300whp-400whp, be reliable, not blow up or overheat on you and be able to lastā¦ you will look at 5k+ easily be it SR, KA or RBā¦ hell even a v8 swap. Ultimately most guys who are serious enough spend a good 10kā¦ You just dont add up all the small little crap to realize it. If it wonāt be 10k, itāll at least be very close to it at the end of the day. And thereās always that unexpected thing you have to spend on or even things breaking. Go figureā¦
