Whitey's 1993 Nissan 240sx

Awesome numbers

Not sure a 35R would do much good. I think the choke point now is the Z32 MAF. Honestly not sure how much more I want to go with power. It will be a blast for a street car.

Great numbers whitey!

will it beat darkstar? i think its time you made him change his signature

congrats on the numbers too btw

no one can beat the darkstar… I am heading to MIR, if he is game he will come down and race.

congrats cant wait to see it at mir

I see my presence is not needed here. Carry on.

wow

damn guess whitey not the only one to blow welds on intake lol

Oh snap!!

Holy shit.

That’s what happens with a long surface area and no bracing with aluminum. My first Magnus manifold looked like a bomb went off inside it.

bahahah that would be the welds on the intake manifold.

i was at a race i think it was at michigian or new england and madahvi’s supra blew the intake right next to us. shrapnel through the hood, barely missing his crew and us pitted next to him. definitely some scary shit. basically let loose like a pipe bomb.

I thought that was at Norwalk?

This was the same deal. this thing was at columbus at import face off. It was very Loud!

or when a weld doesnt have full penetration and is only surface bonded. Alot of ppl get carried away with the “LOOK” of a weld instead of having full penetration. Look at the pic posted and you an see the inside of the metal where the weld was shows no sign of full penetration

Most sheetmetal manifolds are mig welded. You’ll pay twice as much for something that is tigged, thus why they are so popular.

I know Magnus mig welds theirs and on the subject, kinetic mig welds their intercoolers that cause the same failures in those areas.

Magnus sucks, JMF manifolds are tig welded and are beast.

But anyway back to the topic on hand…

That sucks whitey, your engine is looking clean as balls minus the manifold blow out. Where are you going from here? another manifold? different brand, design or heavier duty one?

huh? i have never seen a mig welded intake manifold. the intakes that magnus has on their site are tig welded. they may not be great tig welds, but definitely tig. generally, mig welded aluminum, unless done by a robot look like complete ass…
