I can get the high-flow cats, but I obviously need a shop to make me the piping and to put the cats into the piping. I’ve gone to:
Monroe on Rt 20 by Xgates—can’t bend 2.5" piping enough
Midas on Central by Bob & Ron’s----ridiculous quote, around $1,000
Cole on Central by Westgate Plaza—can’t bend 2.5" piping enough
I am going to go to:
Broadway
Inline
Pete’s Auto
Is there anyplace else I should go? Who do you guys think would do the best job for a reasonable price?
Any help would be great…

UPDATE: I got a quote from Chris at Inline a few weeks ago and he said $650 if I provide the cats. Today I went to Broadway and he quoted me $200-250 if I provide the cats. Is this guy from Broadway legit? I’ve heard a few good things about their shop, but that is a LOT cheaper than I expected. Does anyone have any good/bad stories from this place? What is Inline going to give me that Broadway can’t??
1000 isnt a bad deal for that job. u have to consider it will take at least a day to build that if not more. with the high flow cats and piping it would be a few hundred for materials alone. im not sure what price range you would consider reasonable.
You can have some shitty muffler shop fab one up no problem, but it will leak within a year, and look like shit from under the car, but you could get it done for probably $200 in labor depending on where you went, and about $300 in materials.
I would change the mufflers too though or this is all for nothing…
c/s materials and cats r around 300$- 400$.
s.s is double, about…
this all depending on types of material and how good of muffler and cats u want!!
500$ to 600$ labor is about fair. depending on how exotic the exhaust system is…
Your better off finding one of the internets somewhere, A guy named Travis from myspecv.com is the only guy in the world right now doing custom vq swaps in spec v’s and I’m pretty sure he gets exhaust like this made for the spec v with this swap. Check it out
Yeah a G note isnt terrible, seeing how most mid pipe systems are 200-500 and a catback can be 500+(depending on car yada yada) Also like he said look into an x or h pipe setup for it to equalize the exhaust pulses.
who needs exhaust just run dumps save yourself the g jk jk :banana :+1 with what adam said wound up puttin a H on the old chevy i had added a deeper tone to it
This is my first car and I don’t know a whole lot about exhausts, but with said H-Pipe would I put the cat in the " - " part of the H (running between the two pipes) or would I still need one cat for each pipe later in the system?
EDIT: A nice, deep tone is also what I’m looking for, the car has a little bit of rasp stock, which I don’t mind too much, but I definitely don’t want to amplify that.
Also, I was thinking around $300 total for parts and maybe $600 for labor, the guy at Midas was saying $1000 for piping and labor, not including the cats. I’m not expecting this to be a $400 total job or anything.
Triple edit: I just remembered that cats are at least a foot long, so I’m assuming that I’d still need two and that it wouldn’t fit in the " - "…
I went to inline today, they quoted me $650 if I provide the cats, which are about $125 a piece (racinglineperformance.com), so around $900 for the whole deal. That’s about what I was expecting, but I’m going to stop by Broadway and Pete’s just to make sure they won’t do it for considerable cheaper. Everyone at inline was really nice and helpful, the guy actually looked at my car and really thought about what he should do, not just a 8 second scan like the guy at Midas. Also, they were building an SR20DET 240sx, so that was a plus.
