Who can remove tints

Hello all,

My S6 was a Florida car and has some seriously dark tint, aka illegal. Who removes tint around here? I’ve done it before on previous cars, but this one is nice enough for me to go to a pro so I don’t botch it. Anyone recommend a decent shop?

Thanks

You only have to remove side windows. That is very easy with a clothes steamer. I left the rear window on my E63 tinted because I did not want to hurt the defrosters. That was inspected by the dealer and passed.

Dude. Just did my truck. Windex and a razor blade. Took me 10 min a window. Peeled off the tint spray the glue on the window and scrape.

Heat gun helps too

You guys have inspired me to give it a shot.

Thank you

Took of the tint in my F150. No problem at all. 2 sides, maybe 30 minutes, and it was professionally installed.

I used a steamer on my f150. Once you get the hang of it it comes off really quick. I know a heat gun will work but I didn’t want to accidentally melt anything or have to worry about setting it down.

New tint laws in NYS?

Yes http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?285134-Furor-Cuomo-is-at-it-again-New-Tint-Law&highlight=tint+cuomo

Yeah… mine literally pulled off with nothing needed and left no film on the window. Was the easiest thing I’ve done. Took all of 2 minutes to take the front door tint off.

I’ll have to start paying more attention in traffic and see if there are a lot less tinted windows around. I forgot all about the new inspection tint law until someone mentioned it in this thread.

I still see a bunch around. will be interesting to see a year or so from now if there are any left.

So strange. All over the south people drive around with black windows and I have never heard of an officer stopping anyone for having tinted windows.

Also I have never seen a DWI checkpoint, or other roadside checkpoint done for any reason.

It may be due to the fact that police are out fighting crime, and not just out earning revenue for the coffers of a dwindling city.

The one thing police do here is enforce school zone speeding, I agree with that so kids don’t get their ass ran over.

I just did my father in-laws challenger Saturday. Used my cheap Walmart steamer and had all the side windows done in a half hour.

New York is an absolute police state.

I drive to Boston a lot and as soon as you get on the 90 in Massachusetts there is literally no exaggeration 10% of the cops you see on the 90 in New York. All the way from Lee to Boston.

Did this over the weekend. Used a steamer, razor, some goo gone and Windex. All in all, not bad.

It was easy enough that I am embarrassed I created this thread, but I appreciate you all for instilling the confidence in me.
