Smashed the rear window in my chevy 1500. Cheapest I’ve found is $270 at turnpike glass in duanesburgh. Seems steep for an old pickup. 1997 K1500 extended cab 2 door with the solid rear window, no slider. Had rear defrost but i dont care to keep it.
a guy i work with went to safelite by the albany airport for a rear window i think he said it was like 250
Safelite was $322
no glass insurance?
cardboard it up, add glass coverage, call 2 weeks from now “man Im glad I added glass 2 weeks ago, unfortunatly my luck ran out and I put a quad though the truck glass”.
lol
Hit eric up and ask him who his glass guy is, he has a hook up we got some slick deals though.
nope. buying it now though. price of a window i could have paid for glass coverage for 15 years.
Since its the rear you can probably just buy it from a junkyard and glue it in yourself
Craftsman autoglass. 5184702477 I can almost guarantee hell be the cheapest.
I could be dumb, but doesn’t NYS require you to have comprehensive (aka glass) coverage on a vehicle?
Nope
Maybe on a lease you need it. Some dumbass stole my radio busted my window out and I had to pay out of pocket. I didn’t have the glass coverage
He has your radio and you had to pay to replace the window.
Who’s the dumbass again?
Older Rear truck windows aren’t glued just put in a rubber seal and pressed in. At least anyone I have ever installed was like that. Pain in the cock.
No. Atleast it wasn’t required a while back when I had a POS truck with bare minimum coverage on it. That truck was barely worth the cost of a new windshield anyway.
Currently Ive got full coverage on my truck and plan on keeping it that way.
Glass coverage is normally a separate policy addition and not included with most full coverage plans.
Worth every penny imo
Try the glassman up on rt 50. Few miles south of ballston spa.
Its part of comprehensive coverage.
Cooper glass in clifton park is cheap and they do a great job

Maybe with your insurance co. by default… but its 100% not the case with Gieco. Its always been another check box for me when I put a car on the road and I want glass.
^this. Also I thought a rear defroster was required to pass inspection in NY? Prolly different for trucks though never looked into it since I don’t own one.
