Ok, thread cleaned up a bit.
Were cars really seized at CSCS? Was the Innovative crew there that can confirm?

I love this thread. LOL
So what is the real story?
Were the police enforcing pubic highway laws (inspection, registration, legal mods) when cars were leaving the track? (legitimate reason, but lame)
Were the police enforcing motorsport laws* when cars were racing? (legitimate reason)
Were the police enforcing public highway laws (inspection, registration, legal mods) when cars were racing? (bogus reason)
I dont get it
updates?
Oh, ADD?
Yeah, dat shit
We all trailer our cars there and back so we haven’t been stopped. They’re concerned with street cars being driven to and from the track. I didn’t see this going on at the last event, but sometimes they do roadside checks for registration and inspection near the track.
APPARENTLY sometimes they check for lack of catalytic converters via a roadside sniffer. I cannot confirm or deny they’re actually sniffer testing and ticketing for lack of cats since I’ve never seen or experienced it, but APPARENTLY they do this on the highway in random locations and sometimes near tracks.
I do know some people are legitimately passing e-tests without cats on modern cars that are running well enough for what it’s worth.

has a lil bit on what happened…
cops are just being big fag like they always are.
i see what your point is here but it’s still bullshit.
the police stage a reasonably sized operation to pull over and inspect people who MIGHT be guilty of low-level violations when a large group of people in the target demographic will be in a particular area to attend a perfectly legal event on private property.
radar traps are fair game to keep people honest, but scouring over people’s cars who are at the time of inspection observing proper driving etiquette to see if their car may or may not be in violation of non-criminal activity is not just a waste of public resources but also not good social policy.
It has a negative impact on the viability to host events of this nature. It’s hard enough to make these events sustainable as it is… this makes it that much harder.
upon some further research via google… (i must be the genius here for trying that one)… they pulled cars for cats mainly as Ministry of Environment was with the MTO.
154 busts!
i suggest avoiding Binbrock
and going a day early and camping out.
ALSO if you want to run bunch of illegal mods lol next time buy a US car and US plate it. its easy! than MTO cant say shit as its an out of state car! WEEEEEE (you US boys should know that… they dont know american law)
They do this road side cat inspection BS in Texas and California I would assume other states as well.
I haven’t seen cat checks here in Texas luckily, as none of my 5 cars have them.
I know they were doing it in Dallas when I lived there.
It’s weird in Texas each county/town/whatever has different emissions laws some places do the dyno smog check some places don’t
All my VW’s had a dual resonated exhaust that looked like a cat, and reg’d in a non sniff’d im240 county when I was in TX.
eh?
