Who will you Vote for?

I have no problem with Canada or it’s people, however to be completely honest, Canadians are cowards, ignorant to their personal responsibilities. For example: Gas prices go up, everyone goes “Oh goodness, why do they raise the price? It’s the government I tells ya! This is daylight robbery!” Give me a break. Canadians complain AS they pump their cars full of gas everyday.

No one - and this is my point - no one stands up for what they believe. People don’t like Harper or Dion’s platforms they say “Wtf, no way I’m voting for anyone! Not voting at all means I prove a point!”

Not really. Not voting proves yet once more that Canadians are ignorant to their own personal responsibilities. You have the freedom of speech and the freedom to vote for those to represent you as a whole.

But what do we do when we don’t like something? We give up and recede into the darkest cave to wallow in self pity and hate for the country.

Stand up for yourself. You don’t like the carbon tax? (This is a general idea, not for one individual… Let’s pretend I’m speaking to thousands) Then get the fuck together, get media appeal/interest, and rally that Dion change that if he wants your vote.

It would change faster than you would ever fucking think.

Look what happened with the NDP farce that wanted to have faith-based schools, Mr. John Tory. The entire population went LOLFUCKTHAT and you could see the reprocussions! He went from being a possible PM to a farce that put himself lower than a McDonald’s employee.

Not only did he lose the election, he also had to do a PR stunt saying “That’s not what I meant, all you’s idiots are mistaken!”

People who don’t vote or think they can’t change Canadian constitution/politics, you’re fucking ignorant and downright idiotic.

We’re all just too fucking lazy to do anything about it. So stop crying.

/end rant.

Bull shit. you dont think the hundreds of thousands of immigrants and refugees that have come to canada from war-torn, poor, and brutality filled countries to make a successful, peaceful and happy life for themselves think this country is anything less then fantastic? Sure you could make a nice life in some areas of Europe, but dont tell me they dont have their own problems and that life there is perfect. Far from it.

After hearing some stories first hand from my sisters b/f whos serving in the Israeli army it really hits you have good we have it. It would be amazing to see how durastically a persons paradigm and respect for living in the west changes if everyone was sent to live somewhere in afirca, the middle east, china, ect… for a week.

Your vote, as insubstantial as it may seem to you is your personal voice, your right to the freedom we take advantage of everyday. People that complain about living in Canada is one thing, but people that dont vote and still complain is just straight up ignorant.

Dude, if it wasn’t better than a war torn third world country, it’d be FUCKING SAD. If people were actively CHOOSING getting their head blown off over coming to Canada, then I’d really question what we have going for us here.
I’m talking about that part of Europe that isn’t war torn, you know… like 99% of it. This isn’t 10 years ago, even the Balkans are peaceful now. Western Europe hasn’t had a conflict since WWII. Everyone I know that’s visited England, France, Germany, Spain, etc… has NOT wanted to come back.
People define quality of life differently. For me, what we do here isn’t life. We work for STUFF. More stuff, better stuff than our neighbour’s stuff. Moving to a more expensive neighbourhood, so you’ll have richer people to compete with. WHY? Where’s my vacation? I don’t want to work all year with a meagre 4 weeks off. I want 4 months off. Fuck that, I want 4 months ON, I want the rest off.
I know motherfuckers that live in Barrie and Orangeville. You know how much time they have during the week? Prolly in the negatives lol. What kinda life is that? Wake up at 4AM every morning to beat rush hour because you live in the fuckin sticks.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a life here, for people that are okay with working, or are enterpreneurial enough to figure out how not to work. But I know I don’t have the balls to start my own business, and I also know that I’m not gonna work for the rest of my life. Working is ghey.

Solarian,
I was born in Europe and lived there for many years. I’ve been all over that place and I can tell you right now that I would never live there. I would go there for a vacation alright, but I would never want to stay there (especially England and France… those two countries give me the creeps. Just look at the stats regarding crime rates and crime rise in those two countries. It’s unbelievable).

It’s very expensive to live in Europe and the standard of living went downhill since they started to use the Euro as their currency.
I know plenty of people that are still in Germany, Switzerland, France, England etc… and even they say that living there 15-20 years ago was much better than it is now.

If you actually went down there to live and work, you would see that it’s not that great as you think. You think working here sucks? I talk to my co-worker every day who’s in Belgium and he’s in the office longer than me most of the days. Hell, he can’t even get enough sleep most of the days.
We even work on the weekends in order to catch up with work and staying in the office until midnight isn’t unusual.

Dustin has it exactly right

how did we go from liberal to conservative?

How did bush win two consecutive elections?

go to 1:27.40 and watch.

Here’s something I thought was unbelievable. I don’t support the Liberals but it makes it hard to support conservatives after seeing this.

In the house of commons, word for word, Harper recites a speech given 2 days earlier by Australian prime minister John Howard. Check it out!

[y]L8YwJC_nBgw[/y]

This was 5-1/2 years ago. The Liberals must have been holding onto this one until now.
Maybe they should spend more time focusing on today and not the past.

i watched the debate last night and stand behind the conservatives still… say what you will, they are still the best choice out of the bunch

It’s dirty alright. I agree though, they should worry about them selves… as if they’ve been the perfect leaders in the past.

The debate was good, Harper handled the heat pretty well I must say. Obviously they all want to make him look bad, but he spoke with more clarity and confidence than anyone else there, with the exception of Elizabeth May of Green Party.

^^^ you know the one problem i had with her i think had to do with her inexperience… she interrupted and talked way over her time… though i think she did it to try to show that she is a contender… i think green and liberals actually share lots of the same campaign ideas and the liberals would do better if she would be running in dion’s place

I think the liberals would do better if any of those people at that table were Dion’s place, including the host. Maybe not that weirdo from the Bloc though, he made it pretty clear that he didn’t want to be leader, just a pain in the ass.

Not trying to be an asshole, but look who’s talking. Have you personally done anything about it? Cause if you haven’t, you’re exactly the person you’ve been ranting about.

If you actually did something, then I’ll shut the fuck up.

those speeches are prepared for US allies to recite…

The opposition doesn’t think so but that’s what I originally thought too. It’s important, for public record, to ensure that the aligning countries all have a similar position. Copying a speech word for word, makes us and the Aussies k-hunts look a bit like U.S. drones. I guess thats nothing new though.lol

Slow down there turbo. There are people who believe it is within their full democratic right not to vote. It’s quite an odd though process but I believe they can do what they want.

Second, a pacifist is a person who opposes war. People who oppose war did not help create this “world spiral into a shithole”. It would be more correct to say war helped create this “world spiral into a shithole” problem.

False. You’re vote supports the party you voted for in the next election. They get a per vote disbursement…

Don’t be a douce.

The doors wide open.

CYA

No offense, but you can leave anytime, this isn’t a jail.

i’d totally not feel bad about leaving Canada either.

i hear Switzerland, Sweden, Norway etc. are all incredible places to live.

Leaving Canada isn’t bad, I have been in Europe over a year and a half now but let me tell you guys something. Don’t always think that the grass is greener on the other side. Being in Europe for so long I have come to see the problems that people face here and it’s prety much the same things, they have crapy politicians that do nothing but make things worse, the wages are low but the cost of living is high and the markets are just as bad.

As a place yes, Europe is nicer. I have been to just about every major city here in Europe and there are most of them face the same problems. You got to remember that when you visit a place everything looks peachy because your on vacation but when you live there or work there you will start to see things in a different way. I just got back from Lyon and Nice in France, great places, I was there for work but the cost of living is just as expensive as Canada and maybe more. Last week I was in Athens it costed me 74.00 Euros to fill up my gas tank on regular unleaded (95 octane in Europe is the lowest you can get) 74.00 euro’s is like $115.00 CND!!! The price of gas here is 1.30 euros per liter!!! That’s over 2.00 Canadian dollars per liter! No wonder people here don’t want to buy vehicles that have engines biger the 2000cc’s (2.0L).

The point I’m trying to make is that thse problems Canada is having are global problems and do not just exist in Canada, when you compare Canada to the rest of the world, trust me Canada should be in the top 5 as one of the best contries to live in.
