I work with a lot of PhD’s and not once have I called them Dr. other than to ask for a prescription. (they are chemcial engineers after all)

Obviously anyone with a doctorate is a doctor, but I really only call MD’s doctors.
Hence why I posted the poll, its not dumb, it sparked a fuming debate for about hour & half on Saturday. And I wanted to see other people’s thoughts.

A “Doctor” is anyone who has achieved a PhD level of education. Plain and simple. Whether they have a Doctorate of Engineering; a Doctorate of Vetrinary (sp?) medicine; Doctorate of Internal Medicine; Doctorate of Philosophy; etc.
If they have a Doctorate of Philosophy I’ll call them Doctor, then punch them in the face.
