My 450 is pretty easy-peasy to get running, even when cold its 2-3 kicks at most with the new Mikuni’s

Hows the top end on the other bike going?

Top end is all done. I just need to collect it and assemble. Been helping my dad do a roof on his house and get some other stuff in order so I’ve been slacking on the Triumph.
I’m sure you all know about this but here it is again:

Sure, not a problem! Clutch needs to be done real soon as it slips but, I’ve been riding it like that for months now, just needs to be taken easy. I’ll be at the Voodoo show if you want to give it a whirl.

For anyone interested. Mods N Rockers August 19th - 20th in Toronto.
You going? Seeing that Commando scrambler in fire flake blue sold me on the idea of attending.
I probably will! Wonder how bad the Ural’s clutch will hate me the whole way there doing 50mph, ha.
I’ll possibly finish my CB before that date. If you want to go for sure, let me know.
Ummm, I don’t exactly fly when riding, but for fucks sake, fix the clutch if you plan on riding up to TO. 50mph, or 80kph, is suicide on the QEW/Gardner/Lakeshore Expressway.
I have a big golf tournament the 21st I’ve already paid for, as long as I’m back night of the 20th I’ll go.
here’s my most recent addition to the collection:
a half-finished dunstall-inspired cb750 SuperSport cafe racer. Idiot had a garbage mac exhaust for it (wasn’t even mounted) so I bartered for a stock supersport 4-1 header and tossed a stainless supertrapp on it I’ve been hoarding. Did a bunch of maintenance items on it, have a few tune-up things to do, but shooting to ride this to V&BR
I’ll probably put a for sale sign on it lol.
Found trans, and it doesn’t leak lol. It’s in, but i need to find a puller to pull the old clutch hub? Not sure if it’s the correct term. I should get a new chain to lol.
I have a ground down 3 jaw puller that I use to pull the clutch hub.
Some important things to note:
Screw the clutch hub nut onto the mainshaft loosely, put a socket on it and then put your puller on that. If you don’t, it will blast the clutch pushrod through the kicker cover.
The socket to remove the main drive gear sprocket is special., It’s 1-7/8 but it’s really deep. I have one you can borrow if you want, along with the puller for the clutch hub.
Also, both the clutch hub nut and the main drive gear nut are reverse threaded.
Did you get an early or late 4 speed? (does it have the ears?)
Also, there are three different mainshaft lengths, measure to make sure the new transmission you got is the same. Even if the trans date code on the trans is correct for your bike, people swap them ALL the time.
Lastly, while the trans is out you should replace the main seal and the main drive gear spacer in the transmission. I know you said it doesn’t leak, but it will if you don’t replace the MDG spacer.
I’ve ripped so many 4 speeds apart and I have tons of parts in stock. I’ll be in the shop at my house most of today and tomorrow morning, shoot me a PM if you want to stop by.
Thanks @newman. Its a late 4 speed with the ears. I remembered real quick that nut was left hand thread when I put my impact on it and it snapped. Lol… fuck. I the nuts fine shaft broke in the old trans.
I’ll have to measure everything up. I wasn’t aware of the different lengths.
The guy did say he had Andrew’s short ratio 1-2 gears in it… Other than that I have no idea what was done.
I want to mock it up and make sure it fits before I tear it apart. Guy around the corner from me has a puller, I gm have to stop over there this weekend.
I have a coyote problem I need to address, I don’t like walking out at 430 am to find 5 roaming the side yard.
What year is your pan motor?
We can cross that bridge when we get to it. But the headlight on old British bikes are about as bright as a tea light in a mason jar.
The hipsters skinny jeans will be even tighter in the crotch region if you do

Great few days on the bike. Last Monday I blasted to Ellicottville and Tuesday I was out in Little Valley for work. Headed home through Cherry Creek, S. Dayton, Leon-great ride.
@Quattro_Krant it looks R.
why did you move it 12" away from its original parking location?
if anyone is interested in purchasing a vintage bike/cafe racer…I am looking to sell the silver/black cb750f shown above as well as a cb550 cafe I’m in the middle of getting together. PM for details. I’ll have my xs750 triple brat for sale shortly thereafter as well (the one with a skateboard deck upholstered for the seat). the 550 is getting paint, so if someone is serious you can pick the color before I spray it. I’ll have all but the paint done by this weekend.
What are you on about?
