why car forums are a waiste of time

he does have a point though, ive never been on any other forum that has so much bashing but then again its because its local. I think if we couldn’t interact outside of the forum then there wouldn’t be as much drama as there is, because theres always someone talking shit at the lot, doing something stupid, saying this person beat that person in a race, blah blah blah. I also think that we get to know each other a lot more then on any other forum that isn’t local, we learn what makes people tick, we learn each others personality and thats what makes every one fight, for instance, i know most people on here a lot better than i know someone on ls1tech, and so on and so forth. just my opinion

what’s going happen when the forum becomes bigger and we have 1000 members? When we can unite as car guys and represent a scene in the 518 worthy. I have lived in a couple different states and our car scene around here is weak compared to other places. You should look at this board as an privelage, because if you lived lets say in the 802 your would drive alone.

The issue with Shift518 is unlike most other forums, you actually know the people you’re on the board with, just like you said, and that creates a whole unique demographic of competition. If you lose an argument on a general board, that’s fine because you’re still anonymous, you lose an argument here and it will haunt you.

It doesn’t matter if it’s IRL or the Internet, you get a bunch of people together of different maturity levels and there will be arguments. Personalities will clash, it’s inevitable.

This truly is nothing compared to other forums I have been on. Man, just visit my local forum for my local newspaper. It would depress even the most dramatic of people.

I’m just going to point out that I personally don’t care how well your spelling and grammar skills are. As long as I can understand what you said then it’s good enough for me. Spending time proof-reading a post on a car forum is a joke. I’d rather be accused of being a bad speller than spend that extra time checking my post for errors.

there are a couple bad apples here (as with every forum), but it’s incredibly unfair and childish to assume everyone is the same.
