Why do cars fucking hate me?

most people don not trade in a car cause it was running too good with no problems…

i am with chad

trade it in and get a mustang that will have a lot more problems with cheaper parts

no, sunhawk is just a moron. The day you see a thread of mine that starts out “so Ive been driving my car around with the temp gauge pegged,” please feel free to chastise beyond belief.

I’m NOT taking the car back.

Just got back from Advance. Battery was bad and the alternator was putting out 8% of what it should have been. Got a new battery, hope that fixes everything. :hs:

Wait a min…if the battery was bad AND your alternator is only putting out 8% of what it should be then just buying a new battery isn;t going to fix it. You need to find out why the new alt is only putting out (or being restricted) to 8%…Start looking for coroded connections and wire comming from the alt…

unless I’m reaindg that wrong…

I understand that but for some reason you replaced it and they are saying the NEW alt is still only putting out 8% plus you had a bad battery? thats why I said somthing else is wrong. If the new one is only putting out 8% all that means is you are going to kill this battery also.

Ford > DSM > Nissan reliability :kekegay:

full coverage then burn the fucker

hmm generally when the alternator is dead, the battery is also.

if you get a battery i would sugest a optima red top

its not the end of the world, things happen.

the OLD alternator was putting out 8%.

oh, and with the new battery, shes running perfectly fine now. If that alt was only putting out 8%, it was probably doing so for a while, which was probably a bad strain on the battery, and then it finally just went. :dunno: Either way, both needed to be replaced so I didnt piss away money chasing the problem around like I had originally thought. :hs:

Ok cool glad its all fixed. You didn’t state old battery in this post thats why I said other wise. Also like eric stated I would suggest the red top also incase you have any other problems down the road like this. :hs:

:bigok:Thats good glad it wasn’t wiring

glad its fixed… good deal

Right on. Glad to hear you weren’t chasing your tail! Automotive batteries (non-deap cycle) aren’t mean to be fully drained and recharged… so the bad alternator letting it drain all the way surely did the battery in. Glad she’s all fixed, you had me skuuurd w/ you post about fawking up the Indiglo install (what kind of ricer fag fucks up an Indiglo install???).

thats why I suggested going with a red top :hs:

yeah i know, when I saw that the alternator was still working, but barely at all, thats what I figured had happened. I’ll bet the old folks that had the car before me werent constantly blasting the BOSE system, so the alternator may have limped along for some time until I took over the helm.

the quality of the indiglo kit was extremely poor. Cheap wiring, gauges didnt fit quite right… I cut off all the kits connectors and re-wired with crimp on insulated male/female connectors from radio shack and now it works like a gem. I didnt think that it had anything to do with it, but it happened right in the middle of the install, so I had to wonder…

And i didnt go with a red top. I was thinking about it, but im not running a big stereo or anything. Advance had a 700 Cold crank amp (almost twice as much as stock) battery for like $45, so i went for it. :dunno:
