wi-fi question...

i upgraded my ram last night. it goes underneath the airport (wi-fi) card. i connected everything back up exactly the way it was, and all of a sudden i can barely get a signal if it all. if i’m sitting on top of a router, it’s fine, but my computer doesn’t have near the range it did before.

for the haters, my windows computer is still operating flawlessly.

previously, both my computers had exactly the same signal. now my windows computer has a full signal, and my laptop barely has anything when they are right next to each other.

any ideas?

loose connecter? is it an OEM memory piece? or some ebay junk Something might be cuasing interferance.

I would go back and check the antenna on the card.

i’ve checked it three times. and the memory is PNY from best buy.

everything seems fine?

did you try pulling the ram out to see if that is even the issue? maybe something else just started happening at the same time

I’m pretty sure your 1337 hax days are over dan…

maybe the extra heat from the memory?

just a guess

or possibly causing interference?

wifi wanted to make me pull my hair out so…

as it turns out, nytegrsx was right. the cable wasn’t all the way in. i pushed until it was firmly in there. just to check one more time, i pulled the keyboard off and pushed harder. it clicked again and i immediately found 3 networks. lol.

sorry i’m retarded.

Theres never any harm in trying a 4th time now is there

I only know because i made the same mistake… and checked it 6 times.

Your internal wifi card will have a input for wires on it. There is prolly a minipci one that is in your laptop motherboard. Make sure that none of them came off it.

He already solved the problem, the antenna wire was loose.
