noise comming from the engine some buzzing noise like i have some very crappy turbo thats about to blow up. its some whoozing noise. it gets louder when rpm get higher. it was bad when i first noticed it but i drove it off and it comes on and off but not as loud as before. anyone know what can cause that noise and should i worry about anything about to give in. i’m guess that it can be throttle body cleaner in my intake manifold cuz i over sprayed. but i did sprayed it 2 days ago
Could it be electrical interference? It’s usually RPM-related and has a “whine” sound. Done any sound system or grounding work lately? Might want to double-check that and/or your grounding.
Shouldn’t be your throttle body cleaning job. However, if you didn’t quite tighten a hose clamp or connection in your intake system, this kind of sound could arise.
while reving or under heavy load. gets louder as rpm goes up. the noise seems like air related. idle is fine and the noise happens on and off. i tightened all the clamps too
I heard a similar noise from mine a while ago, and it was the fan clutch. Try spinning your fan manually (with the engine off of course). If it’s hard to turn, or you hear a weird noise come from it, you will need to get a new fan, or just replace it with a used one like I did (thanks to Bing and Chris). Don’t try and oil the bearing either, it’s sealed. Good luck.

Note that the fan isn’t meant to spin freely, there is some resistance… just feel for any grinding or a stiff spot, something that would indicate bad bearings.
