Like the title states, if I run the emission test under HOTROD status, and I have a high flow cat (no name), do you think it will pass? Somewhat of a noob and im looking for experienced opinions here.
my sr has passed 3 e-tests under hotrod status. one of the most important things would be your bov. what type are you running and is it vented to atmosphere? I always recirculate my bov for e-tests and it passes no problem.
I passed my etest with a 3in turbo back exhaust, generic high flow cat, none recirc greddy rs bov
I was doing the test under regular 240sx specs aswell which are much stricter than hot rod status and I passed with flying colours!
if ur not able to recirculate ur blow off valve lets say u have a blitz and dont want to wait to get a fitting, i think adjusting the blow valve more to the hard side should help. aslong as ur sr is running like really good and u have a good cat and o2 sensor u should pass in hotrod mode easily.
my sr passed yesterday with a 3" exhaust, hi flow cat and an hks bov vented to atmosphere. no problems. They tested it as a grey market vehicle, idunno if thats the same as the hot rod status.
I tested mine under hotrod yesterday too, only difference is i’m running a recirc. Passed
I can guarantee your CO% on idle will be higher with a atmospheric as i tested the same motor with a greddy type RS and my reading at idle was 1.52 , running a recirc and it ran .50
