A day later I am totally sold on Windows Phone. The design, layout, speed… I’m sold. The only app I am missing is my Yahoo fantasy Football app, but I can make do with the website.
In terms of the Nokia part…the battery is far and away better than any droid I’ve used. The screen is night and day difference, sunlight is no problem, before I had to find shade just to strain my eyes to see the screen. Speaker is nice and clear. Good build quality, nice weight, and the second best camera in a phone on the market (to the Nokia 1020). The low light picture quality on this thing is nuts.
The one reason I might switch to the 5S is the concur application I use for work expenses/travel doesn’t let you build expense reports or book travel on a windows phone
thats a pretty fucking awesome app for the road warrior. if I traveled more than once a month for work, that would probably be something I need to look at.
How nice is it to have a clock on the outside of your screen without having to press anything?
Tap to wake is great, but on these phones with the high-sensitivity screens (you can use gloves without silly fingertips) I’ve had my phone screen turn on in my pocket when it bumps into my thigh, lol. Just a heads up.
The NFL.com app is kinda shitty. I’ll get score notices super late, lol. Maybe because it’s a ‘Verizon’ app. But I’m not big on sports anyway.
There are a lot of 3rd party apps out there that are way better than official apps. It’s the plus side of a marketplace with less developer interest than Apple / Google.
