winter driving

hey guys im planning on driving an s13 in the winter i want to prevent rust but i have to drive so whats the best way i could go besides rust proofing it?
thanks

You could get a car wash often, especially the underbody. I don’t really see any other way.

lol ok thanks lol i guess ill be the chineses guy that ull see at the jane and dundas car was lol anytrhing elsee i can do?>???

Actually constantly washing your car in the winter can also be a bad thing too, especially power washing because you are now forcing water and salt to go into places that it shouldn’t be and where it would normaly not be able to go. And then the water and salt get’s stuck there over winter as it keeps freezing and unfreezing and it starts to form rust. If you are going to winter drive your car have it rust proofed and undercoated, it’s the best $107.00 you can spend to protect your car against rust caused by road salt.

…oh yeah if you go to Krown and you don’t want them to drill extra holes to incert their equipment for the rustproofing make sure you tell them at least 20 times and sit there and watch them work on your car. TRUST ME on that lol.

lmao
i know lol that sucks what they did to ur car lol i read about it and guess what liek two weeks after that happened to u my dad brought out brand new 2006 camry v6 le to krown rust on jane and st.clair and they drilled holes my dad flippppeeeeedd cuz he told them no tto and they they he said he forgot to tell the guy that was doing it. lol. thaks for the advice
mikey

get undercoating rustproof, than go to krown and get holes drilled and filled, only way to prevent rust in those tight spots really, holes dont hurt, get them to spray inside your front and rear wheels wells, inside the fenders, gas tank and around, and around strut towers inside engine bay, only way really, than do NOT store your car in the garage if you winter drive it, cause salt gets on it, if you keep it outside it stays frozen and doesnt rot your car, if you put it into garage every night it will metl and slowly rot, im winter driving

thanks guyss im so excited to drive it lol

So am I

HOLY CRAP I CAN NOT WATE TO SLIDE INTO A POLE

GIDDYUP SOOOOOOOEXCITED

Actually… winter is amazing to really learn how to drive.

I drove through the winter when I first got my car… Comparing from the driftnation events in 2004 and then Jover’s 2nd event in 2005… my skills grew exponentially.

But whether you drift or not… it’s still important to know how to control your car in any situation.

Winter = Best teacher ever - just don’t fuck up.

lol that is so true i learned how to drive standard in the winter and it was so much harder compared to driving in the summer but its all good now.

but i still dont know how to drift :frowning: because all i had before was a standard mazda 626 and tried drifiting DID NOT WORK lol any tips?

my biggest tip would be not to try anything until you practise control in a parking lot somewhere. lol.

lol yeah i know thank you lol i tried in the back of my school last winter and i almost hit a mustang lol

lol i dunno lol i think it would cost a lot of money in car washes lol proibabkyt mioer than it wloud cost to get it rustpriodfged lol i dunno tho loil lololololo l o l o l o ol l llllllllllllllllll

Are you drunk?

loool hahaha i think he might be lol

agreed. becuase when the ish gets lose, in the snow, due tp speeding, rain or whatever.

The car will react in the same way whenever you lose control, so learning in the winter, at slow speeds with proper winter tires, is TRULEY beneficial

It also alot of fun shoveling a big section of your street so that you can drive into your driveway. Has anybody ever driven to a ski hill in their 240? Any bad parking lot stories?
