lmao pete
I’d also recommend looking into something that is a 3 in 1 system aka something that has a waterproof shell and a removable liner. That way you are covered jacket wise regardless of what the weather throws at you from now til april.
+1 my last three coat purchases have either been 3in1 coats or just a lightly insulated shell and then use it over my windproof fleece. Layers FTW.
i have my hilfiger fleece i can wear underneath if need be
What I have is an Outdoor Research Gore-Tex Paclite shell which is wind and water proof but not warm at all. Then I have a Helly Hansen Fleece jacket that is mad warm that i wear under it. Its nice because I can wear the Outdoor research shell in the middle of summer as a rain coat. Plus since its Paclite it compresses down to the size of a softball or so so it takes no space up when you arent using it.
brociety.com usually has at least a couple jackets up a day right now. still good deals. as for winter/mountain use i have a 686 a DCShoes and an alycium. got everything covered from nice to freezing cold days with them. but i buy at the end of winter, can’t beat 200+ jackets for 50 bucks.
Same with steepandcheap.com tramdock.com and whiskeymilitia.com But i think he wants to buy local, assuming so he can try it on and feel the product before buying it. But there are some silly deals to be had on all those sites if you catch them when they are selling an item you want.
They sell name brand jackets :retardclap
I bought a sweet l.l. bean ski jacket and matching gloves. It came to about 200 bucks total. I love it.

future reference for you guys, about two hours away, woodbury commons…has a spyder outlet. i bought a 600 dollar spyder jacket for 190 a couple years ago. the store is huuuge and has damn near everything spyder puts out at ridic discounted prices, so for any of you guys needing new shit for the upcoming season its well worth the trip. take ur girl down there and make a day out of it woodbury has everything under the sun.
I have had a mountain hardware jacket for the last 4 seasons. Super durable. In the slush, it’s just starting to lose its waterproofness. It doesn’t get you wet, but the outter layer of fabric will soak up a bit of water. I caught it on sale in the spring for like $180.
Abercrombie=fail for ski coats. Dumping waterproofer on a jacket doesn’t make it anywhere close to the performance of a ski coat. Unless you ride or ski, and have owned both, you wouldn’t get it. Its not about how warm the coat makes you…actually, you don’t want to be to toasty because you sweat. Sweating makes you colder…therefore you need a jacket that is warm and breathable for skiing.
I’m looking at this. Dont buy Abercrombie unless your gay.
Dont jock my shit either.
That coat is super warm and waterproof.
i love my kirra jacket, really warm
i rock the xxxxl tall tee hot or cold, rain or shine :lol
I used to have an oakley axis jacket, by far the warmest jacket I’ve owned, if it hasnt been mentioned yet sports page up off exit 19 on 87 usually has a decent selection.

Looking for a Jacket I saw last night.
Looks like a typical winter Burton jacket and the like, black throughout with checkered/boxed design white lines going on the entire jacket.
So black jacket, white lines aaand go!
I don’t know but I wore my bean today and it was incredibly warm.
