The infamous Golf may be able to put out 1,200 horsepower. Possibly. The story that comes from Hans Dahlback, the owner of Dahlback Racing and the mastermind behind these insane cars, is that the car, when running on a dyno that bolts to the hubs, produced well over 850 hp to the wheels at around 8,000 rpm before the dyno started reading errors–and the car revs to upward of 11,000 rpm. Using a 15 percent drivetrain-loss calculation, at 8,000 rpm the car was over 1,000 flywheel horsepower. I’m making an educated guess that the car produced another few ponies in the 3,000 rpm that followed.
So
Yeah, it’s not making 1600 hp.
But it is much closer to making 1600 hp than your buick is to the 15’s…

but none are as ridiculous as claiming the legendary dahlback golf is at 1600 hp because it’s been awhile since that thing dropped and hans dahlback probably added at least 400 hp. particularly when that car has never (to my knowledge) been confirmed at 1200 hp. regardless, that car is sick.
Haha, thanks guys. Yeah, I stretched that one a little, but it’s close enough. The last time I checked he was at around 1,000 or so, and that was last year, and I know he’s done more to it by now. But oh well.
haha that was my camaro, it has a destroked 350.(more rpm) 327 crank in 350 block, 12.5:1 pistons, stock crank, and rods, alum. pro topline heads, big cam, dont remember lift duration. 6200 stall converter, cobbed exhaust and it had 4.11 in the rear, those went to shit after i put slicks on, currently im working on a new rear with 5.14’s that race last year (october??) was really close and i was very impressed with the integra. had he got 3rd gear, who knows it might have been a different story:meh: but once i have 5.14’s i wont be doing rolling races anymore.
-For everyone here with fast cars that are into drag racing, my uncle owns a shop, and we rent out lanecaster monthly during the summer, on sundays 12-5 for 30 dollars a car. might sound expensive, but if you are used to a typical night at lanecaster you know thats a deal, you can run till your car explodes.
