Looks like the TV feed is better by about 1,000ft and more recent than the live stream, but there are commercials on TV… boo.

It looked like he deployed early, but I have no more to go by than you guys do.
He wanted Kittenger to still at least have one record.

He was at 6000 feet pretty quickly. I suspect he deployed on time, but actually had a shorter freefall because of his higher initial speed.
That was pretty badass.

yeah that was pretty intense.
if he had of free falled (is it falled in this case?) for another 18 seconds he would have had the record but might have died too 
he broke the speed record (hitting the sound barrier) and the higher jump and one other record.

i thought this was a red bull promotion, didn’t realize it was this guy’s project for 4+ years but i can see why Red Bull got behind it… or rather, i can see why Felix would want Red Bull to be title on it. Imagine something went wrong and he died though? that would suck for Red Bull :)… and Felix too i guess but not as much as it would for Red Bull.
Why would it suck for redbull if he died?
